2026 Week 8 Alabama Crimson Tide Rankings

Main Poll Voters

Lex_Ludorum 10 Strange performance, but still kicked Kentucky’s butt. Thus they get the nod.
Maladroit44 10 The AP Poll has five two-loss teams ranked, all from the SEC. Four of those deserve thorough questioning, but the same shouldn't be said for Alabama, which unlike any of the others, has both entirely excusable losses and a ranked win. That being said, when the Tide's weaknesses are this obvious *and* their resume is a bit underwhelming, I feel very hesitant still putting them in the top ten. Even with the AP's generosity towards the conference, Bama has just one ranked game left, and I'm increasingly worried that we'll be stuck with a 10-2 or 9-3 team that sits right on the fringe of the playoff yet again.

Paul Finebaum can thank Kalen DeBoer and his staff for following up the close Georgia loss with a comprehensive beatdown on all fronts courtesy of the hated Volunteers for why his show probably gained some extra views and attention earlier this week. The Crimson Tide are only kept here due to their blowout wins against Kentucky and Mississippi State, and they need to resolve their offensive woes before considering themselves true contenders once again.

Justanother_0 15 Color me shocked. I had the Tide as my #2 team going into this game, but the double whammy of the blowout loss to Tennessee and Georgia taking a nasty loss kinda guts their resume. The Kentucky win is keeping the Tide above water, and now Alabama needs to win out to stay alive for the playoffs.

Lefunnymaymays4lief 16 (-10) The first time losing two games in a row since Saban’s debut season. That was 20 fucking years ago, Christ. I said last week Russell looked like a 5 star freshman, both the 5 star and the freshman parts. This week… pretty much only looking at the freshman part. Maybe even high school senior would be more appropriate. Also, similarly to ND, this secondary is WAY too talented to get embarrassed like that. Also similarly to ND, their coordinators are fucking hacks who shouldn’t currently have jobs

Not going to punish them too much, Mississippi State win isn't diminished in my eyes for their non-Taylor performance, Georgia loss is still roughly the same to me, and Kentucky win looks better.

Alabama only has one quality win, over Kentucky, and losses to Georgia and Tennessee. The win is by far the best of any remaining teams, and the losses aren't bad by any means, but its still 2 losses.

sgtshenanigans 18 Alabama losses their second in a row. While they were able to hold Tennessee to only field goals the Tennessee defense was suffocating and while there was some doubt as to how this game would turn out there wasn't that much. Tennessee simply dominated this game. And the Tennessee running game ground down the Alabama defense to pull away in the end. Georgia's loss to Auburn further solidifies my thought that the SEC is the most cannibalistic conference this year with a lack of true dominant teams. Alabama is the highest ranked two loss team for me.

ChBass 19 The Georgia loss was offset by the Mississippi State win (their best win of the season), but you'd need another two Cowbell wins to offset losing to Tennessee. Bama still has top-25 offensive & defensive squads, but they'll need to play flawless football in the home stretch.

Alabama has two close-to-moderate losses: 20-17 to Georgia and 26-10 at Tennessee. Its rule wins include Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss and New Mexico. It’s still one of the strongest teams in the simulated games, with an expected 40.7 points per game.
KevinDoesSports 6 They did lose to Tennessee but the Vols are better than people think. I will still put them behind Georgia, but I expect a SEC championship rematch coming soon.

_THE__BOULDER_ 12 Alabama's offense was stifled. I'd say their defense did fairly well - they did come away with an INT and forced a FUM but were unable to recover it, if I recall correctly. But their offense was outmatched in Neyland stadium. Only 201 total yards, 4 turnovers. Quite ugly. Quite the dismantling. Alabama has a TAMU team that has been facing some severe hardships and currently sits at 4-3 after a win vs Citadel this past weekend. Very much a get-it-right opportunity for Alabama as they look to get back into shape before a bye week and then LSU the first weekend of November.
AoA_nB1 12 Back to back losses for the first time in a long time. The Crimson Tide probably have to win out to salvage the season.
