ChBass 8 Kentucky came back to beat OU to stay in the top-10 despite an offense ranked in the 40's and a defense ranked in the 30's. But they sit tied with Georgia atop the SEC, and they're in the top 10 here.

Justanother_0 9 SEC chaos has led to Kentucky landing the #2 spot in the SEC in my ballot...

A solid team overall. If they didn't collapse against Alabama in the second half then they'd probably be closer to #5.

If Wake Forest is the ACC's surprise this year, then Kentucky is certainly the SEC's. First-year head coach Will Stein has got the Wildcats playing some gutsy, impressive (if cardiac-inducing) football that has put the rest of the conference on notice, and though they helped lower some of their fans' heart palpitations this past weekend, it's certainly been playing with fire for Kentucky so far. One has to wonder if they can keep it up, but if so, a first-time berth in the SEC Title game may await them.

Maladroit44 22 I do not get the hype for this team. Even if you take the AP's current rankings at face value, is a 6-1 record with one ranked win (down to the wire over #18 at home) and one blowout loss (to #13 at home) really deserving of a top-twelve spot? Actually I'm not gonna let you answer this one, it's no, the answer is no. Kentucky is not a playoff-level team, which should be obvious to anyone who's seen them play. They're fine! They're pretty good! But #12 Kentucky is a complete mirage, and I believe that so firmly that I'll place my confidence in my own Tennessee Vols to disrupt the illusion in a few weeks' time.

quantum_jedi 6 (67.76, +5) Was Dan Lanning just a Will Stein merchant? The Wildcats look so different than the last few years it's still an adjustment. With the 4th hardest Strength of Schedule to date and their only loss to Alabama, Kentucky looks to be a serious contender for the SEC title and a spot in the playoff.

GrimmacingGrinny 10 Kentucky held on to beat Oklahoma, and move to 6-1 on the season. Their resume struggles from the fact that Texas A&M is not as good as we thought they were when Kentucky upset them. That leaves just 1 key win in the LSU game. Both Oklahoma and South Carolina are .500 but that should not move the needle too much. Their lone loss was to Alabama, in a game that was close at half but ended up loosing by a large margin.

_THE__BOULDER_ 14 The Wildcats are looking fairly good this year - other than the blowout against Alabama. Last week, I had them at 21. I don't think this far of a jump is typically warranted given the win they just had, but they are being assisted by several teams that I had in front of them also having lost. Those teams being Mizzou, OKST, and Miss St. While I do have them ranked 1-2 spots higher than I would probably want them to be, I do think they can & should beat pretty much every team behind them in their current states (Mizzou and Florida are kind of toss ups for me as I am unsure which version of each of those teams Kentucky will face).

They're sitting at 6 wins, 4-1 in conference, with wins over A&M, LSU, SCAR, and now Oklahoma. I can't get the best read on them - they don't seem to be a highly offensive team but their offense seems to produce when it's needed. They've had some close games - LSU & SCAR were won by the skin of their teeth, while TAMU was a 2 score game (10 points) and Oklahoma a 1 score game (8 points). The win against OU was also a bit of a comeback, as they were down a touchdown before scoring 2 unanswered touchdowns to take the lead. Will Stein seems to be doing what needs to be done but has also benefited from a bit of luck, and you need luck as much as you do skill, conditioning, and the works. I don't know if I'm as confident in this team winning out as I am some others - they still have some very tricky teams on their schedule like Tennessee, Florida, Mizzou, and Louisville - but even splitting those 4 would make this a 9-win team (assuming they beat Vandy, which is likely). This is a decent-to-good Kentucky team, and I'm curious to see where they go.

MyAngelMiraidon 14 +6 - Welcome to a case of getting a pretty large bump upwards due to everyone imploding even though this was a 1 score game. I have no clue if this team is actually good given how they got blown out by an Alabama team that is mortal and they also beat LSU (in OT) and are 6-1
