Justanother_0 1 There isn't a single team in the nation right now that doesn't have a massive question mark. That being said, The Ohio State (good job on finally winning back the THE) has the least amount of questions. Their only loss being a late collapse against a talented Texas team doesn't do enough to dampen their two wins against ranked Indiana and Iowa, so they take the crown.

One must wonder how much Jeremiah Smith can carry the team...

ChBass 2 Welcome back to the front, Buckeyes... the Indiana win makes up for 3 longhorn losses. Ohio State has the third best offense in college football and while 19 isn't a lot of points, only one team has scored more on Indiana thus far.

dukemetoo 2 I really considered dropping them with the Sayin injury. For me to do that, it would mean giving a team with a top 5 win a drop, which I tried, but I couldn't do. Ohio State may drop if they squeak by lesser teams, but right now, this is the correct spot

Lex_Ludorum 2 They are inevitable. Sayin has been mediocre, so don’t think that holds them back.
MADBuc49 2 +4. Would be the #2 playoff seed in this scenario, playing the winner of #7 Georgia/#10 Texas Tech in the Rose Bowl
Maladroit44 2 Ohio State pulled off a great road win by the skin of their teeth, which was about as much as you could ask of any top team this week. I was tempted to rank them #1 despite the imperfect record, because I feel that a one-point road loss is something that can be excused under the right circumstances. Unfortunately...while the Buckeyes to some extent put that loss behind them this week, it's also rapidly getting worse as Texas continues to participate in football games. Neither team is *completely* the same as when they played, and that should matter, but OSU's offensive weaknesses were very apparent in that game and were in this one too, despite the win.

Ohio State has an argument for the best quality wins of any team, with wins over Indiana and Iowa. But they have the loss to Texas, which is still a fine loss, but has taken a hit.

You have to wonder if Fahey or TSC are gonna fair any better if they didn’t enter the game before his injury considering how poorly Sayin was playing. Once again though, Jeremiah Smith simply cannot be denied

sgtshenanigans 3 Ohio State is the first one loss team in the country right now for me. With good wins over Iowa and Indiana and a close loss against a good but not great Texas team on the road. However, Ohio state's QB got his arm folded into his shoulder and looks like he might be out for a while. Ohio State has some tough games upcoming so the odds of them staying at 3 with a back up QB seems low.

Ignoring the Texas-sized 4th quarter collapse of an elephant in the room, the Buckeyes currently look like the best team in the nation (pending on Sayin's diagnosis and backup Fahey's ability to connect with his loaded receivers). A statement win courtesy of a misplaced Marsh foot in Bloomington this past weekend only helps to cement that assumption. Backing this up with an impressive win over a decent Iowa squad in Kinnick certainly doesn't hurt any. A timely bye week should hopefully allow Fahey time to get acclimated to first-team reps before a showdown out west with the offensive powerhouse of Lincoln Riley's USC. As long as they can avoid more disastrous starts like in the Maryland game...

DarthYoda2594 9 Texas loss now looks actually pretty bad. Can't move them down too much more than this after a win over a top 10 team, but that could also be considered a fake win considering the final play, and future prospects look bad. I don't like to factor that in too much, but in this case more as a tiebreaker.

Ohio State won 19-15 at Indiana, which gave it rule wins over Indiana, Nebraska and Northwestern. It has 42 rule wins, but also 7 rule losses because the one-point loss at Texas sends chains through Texas’s wins. It wins 95% of its simulated games, which lifts it past Alabama and Indiana.

_THE__BOULDER_ 5 OSU's offense did not look great out there. I have said it before, but I am worried that this team relies on Jeremiah Smith too much, and Smith was relatively limited on Saturday. Both he and Bo Jackson were limited by a good Indiana defense. They ended up winning this game by inches, and now Julian Sayin is hurt and their backup, Luke Fahey, did not look good. They have a bye before they end up playing USC on Halloween. If Sayin isn't back, I'm not sure how that will go. USC is not very good, but the OSU offense left a lot to be desired with Sayin out, and, frankly, didn't even look good with him in. Sayin is supposed to be out at least a couple weeks. This could spell some issues for this OSU team.
