nw____ 2 tOSU over UGA says more about how high I am on Jim Knowles than anything bad about UGA. With the talent Knowles will be working with, I expect a pretty quick improvement. In a year or two, they may have one of the best defenses in the B1G again. It doesn't hurt that their offense is as incredible as it is, either. That said, the defense isn't going to get a lot of time to settle in-- the front half of their schedule is tough.

owl_man 2 CJ Stroud might finally get Ohio State their first Heisman winner since Troy Smith. Even though they've arguably had better QB play since him.

SpadeRyker 2 Arguably the best offense in the country with all of the weapons to put up dozens of points on whoever they play. OSU's biggest weakness from a year ago, the defense, reloads with a new DC who promises to turn that unit around. If it works, they could win it all. I'd probably put Bama and OSU in the highest tier of true contenders going into the season.

kamiller2020 3 This will be the best offense in the country by a landslide. #2 QB, #2 RB, #2 WR IMO all reside in Columbus you can make a powerful argument that all these guys are the best at their position. Baby Harrison is a 1st round pick, Egbuka and Fleming are potential 1st rounders. They have one of the best offensive lines in the country. Ohio State's offense can go blow for blow with anybody in the nation. The defense....different story. There's talent on this defense, but there's a reason they brought in Jim Knowles. Minnesota, Utah, Michigan, and Oregon were able to get huge plays in the running game against them last year and it's unknown whether they'll fix that issue. There's no standout defensive stud like in years past, and while Sawyer and Harrison could be that player we don't know that today. And last year the secondary was a tossup week to week. If the defense can play up to their recruiting then the Buckeyes will cakewalk into the national title game. Hell even if the defense struggles, this team can still win the whole thing. But until then I have them as the #3 team in the land.

Provisional Poll Voters

colonel750 1
donald_flap 1 Not bias talking for Ohio St, I believe them to be the best team in the league, as they had one of the best offenses in the league last year, with CJ Stroud returning from a record breaking year and the receiving core while not as experienced as last years, is still one of the best in the nation. The defense is where the real differences begin here, as Todd Knowles hopefully is bringing actual strategy to the Ohio State defense which was lacking last year. From what I see, they can only go up from last year.
DownshiftGD 1
ewolfy13 1 I feel OSU, Bama, and UGA are very close, but I feel OSU lost the least in the draft, after Smith-Njigba showed out in the Rose bowl, he can clearly step up to fill the top WR role

dusklord1 2 As long last year's very young defense that went without a true DC most of the year improves somewhat, OSU is back to the playoffs. I don't think this is a very hard ask, especially after hiring a Broyles award candidate.
