| Doogitywoogity | 1 | The big team to beat. They’re certainly not going to have it easy though. texas, Indiana, Oregon, and Michigan along with Iowa, Illinois, and USC makes a tough schedule. |
| EpicSchwinn | 1 | Just…see you in November for the Michigan game and again in January. We know the deal. |

| lowes18 | 4 | Personally I believe we will look back on the 2024-25 Ohio State defense as one of the best in college football's history, so given the amount of talent they lost on that side of the ball I find it hard to rank Ohio State higher than where they are now (I thought about putting both Texas and Miami ahead of them), but the sheer volume of talent on the offensive side of the ball is hard to ignore. In addition Ryan Day and his staff are some of the best in college football when it comes to evaluation and development, while I don't believe the defense will be as good next year, it should be good enough to make them a national title contender. |
| MainPeanut25 | 4 | Major question marks with defense again. As an Ohio State fan, I hate that AP/coaches have OSU at #1 |

| SufferingfOrLife | 4 | Reasons I like them: Return talented trio of Sayin, Smith, Jackson; four o-linemen return, always going to have talented receivers. Reasons I dislike them: Have to replace 8 starters on defense; how quickly can Arthur Smith adjust to the college game? |

| douchebagjack | 5 | |
| elnino550 | 5 | Their schedule is brutal, and they've lost so much on the defensive side of the ball, I still expect them to be a great program with the potential of winning the Natty especially with the best player in college football catching the ball. But Sayin has to improve in the big games with an expected regression on defence. |
| JBonkies | 5 | |
| Justanother_0 | 5 | Ohio State has the best wide receiver in the country on their roster, and has a stalwart defense that has dared any opponent in 2025 to try and break them. I expect them to be really good this year, though their schedule in my eyes is the hardest in the country (like seriously, that thing looks psychotic. 11-1 or better with that schedule likely means another Buckeye natty). |

| Xy13 | 6 | Toughest Games - @ TX, @ Indi, @ USC, vs ORE. Avoid - Penn St --- Lost a lot of their elite defense to the (1st round) draft last year. One of the relatively harder B1G schedules + Texas. Will they win the Natty, or go 7-5 and fire Ryan Day? |

| AoA_nB1 | 1 | Returning the best player in college football, Heisman hopeful QB and Bo Jackson, this offense should produce at a top 5 level. Losing three top eleven picks on the defensive side of the ball won’t be an easy replacement, but the Buckeyes always reload. |

| Perryapsis | 12 | From here on, I looked at the AP poll and basically added the best remaining teams in order based on gut feelings. Given that this is the preseason poll, I fully expect to be proven horribly wrong as the season goes on. |
