Curt Cignetti leads the reigning undefeated national champs with a much more talented roster, and a decent B1G schedule. New QB will be what determines a repeat or not.

lowes18 2 The reigning national champ, given what they return and add I would have them at #1 if I didn't have a lot of questions about Hoover.

Justanother_0 3 The turnaround Cignetti has pulled off at Indiana is nothing short of incredible these last few years. Though I do have questions about whether Josh Hoover will be the guy to author a repeat run at a national title, the Hoosiers return a surprising amount from last years team and will likely continue to have the best lines in the sport. I am done doubting Cignetti, and I expect them to be in the thick of it for the national title race once again this year.

Lefunnymaymays4lief 5 I don’t do the whole “defending champion MUST be #1” sentimental crap. In fact a part of me feels like I’m STILL overrating them. I’m also not sold on Hoover, his pocket awareness in particular spooks me. This is still a top 3, probably 2 staff in CFB and has the deepest WR corps in the sport outside of perhaps Miami. Underrated at DB as well
MainPeanut25 5 Just saying, they’re getting more talented…

ikindalikelemons 6 I'm a Cignetti believer, even if I'm not as much of a Josh Hoover believer. Putting them this low feels insane to me, but a portal program is going to be risky, even if Cig is as phenomenal as we know he is.

redrumsoxLoL 6 Indiana coming off a national championship you must expect them to be strong, but replacing the heisman winner after he was among a program record of 8 players drafted from Indiana. Cignetti showed himself as one of the elite coaches in the game, but one championship isn't enough to convince me for sure that he can re-capture the strength of the 2025 team.
SufferingfOrLife 6 Reasons I like them: Strong d-line group anchored by interior, wide receiver room is strong, three deep at running back, and both coordinators are back.

Reasons I dislike them: The downgrade from Mendoza to Hoover; the TE room is one deep.

Doogitywoogity 7 Defending National Champions the Indiana Hoosiers getting no respect. I think Cignetti is a great coach and he may very well pull out another amazing squad, but until I see them play I’m holding my opinions. Hoover should do well there, and they have an easier schedule, but not all pushovers. Ohio State, Michigan, Washington, USC, with only Minnesota in between those all in a row will determine their season.
eclectic_tastes 7
elnino550 7 They lost a Heisman winning QB along with his 2 WRs and their starting 2 RBs on offense, as well as their game-changing DB Ponds. Their o-line looks to still be elite, Josh Hoover has been inconsistent but Cignetti has a nack of improving QBs so I will trust this coaching staff to have them as one of the main contenders again before a tier drop with the teams ranked below
EpicSchwinn 7 I have some slight reservations on the roster overhaul that’s going down, primarily the loss of the glue that was all of those elder upperclassmen that followed Cig from JMU. But, they just win all the time. Torn on this one.

AoA_nB1 8 Cignetti’s Hoosiers are almost a shoe-in for the playoffs, with an easier Big10 schedule this year, they’ll let it known that they’re here to stay.
