MemeofMemeJTG999999 2 End of Last Season: #9 (10-3) |
Next Week: vs Texas State |
Projected Bowl: Cotton Bowl vs Ole Miss/Alabama
SufferingfOrLife 2 Reasons I like them: #6 in returning production, Additions of Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown to help the running game, trio of WRs (Coleman, Wingo, Mosley), and difference makers at all three levels of defense (Simmons, pass rusher, Biles linebacker, McDonald secondary).

Reasons I dislike them: TE position is weak, O-line depth is shaky, and the safety room beyond McDonald leaves a bit to be desired.

elnino550 4 On paper this is the best roster in the SEC, so I have to rank them as such in the pre-season.
Arch manning got better as the season went on and he now has a top 3 WR in college football to throw to, and 2 dynamic RBs to help out.

Lefunnymaymays4lief 4 If there’s any time for Sark to shed the choker allegations, it’s this year. Profiles similarly to Oregon, except better at the skill positions and slightly weaker at the LOS (made up for by two towers at tackle and possibly the best returning pass rusher AND linebacker in CFB)

lowes18 5 Given the talent I would have Texas at #1 or #2 if I had faith in Sark as a head coach and playcaller. The team might be talented enough to make it a moot point, but I have my doubts.

redrumsoxLoL 5 The Longhorns as opposed to the teams ahead of them I have more faith in their defense than their offense. Arch Manning continues to get better every season, but he has yet to put together a complete strong season without at least a couple head scratcher games so until I see that I don't see them accomplishing their ultimate goal.

Doogitywoogity 6 texas has a rougher path through the SEC and OOC than Georgia, though Arch’s turnaround in the later half of last season gives reason to believe they’ll be solid. Recent injury for their LT may shake things up if he’s not back in time for Ohio State.

Justanother_0 8 Texas has the talent, particularly the wide receivers, to be able to beat anybody that they play. Cam Coleman in particular is gonna be something special for the Longhorns this year. Plus, Manning should be at least marginally better than he was last year now that he has a year of leading the offense under his belt. However, I cannot place them any higher than 8 because I have questions about their O-Line. If that unit continues to underperform then Texas isn't gonna be sniffing the playoffs, regardless of the talent in the WR room.

ikindalikelemons 9 I grew up--literally--watching Peyton Manning every single Sunday from my seats in the RCA Dome (RIP) and Lucas Oil Stadium. Arch is not him. There's a lot of talent though, and one of my former students is a freshman CB so I'll give them a top 10.

Xy13 9 Toughest Games - vs OSU, @ Tenn, vs OU, @ LSU, @ A&M. Avoid - UGA
---
Sark and Manning are back with the roster featuring the most top 100 players of them all. They face a grueling SEC schedule + OSU ooc. They will certainly be tested and prepared to face good teams, if, they can make the CFP.

noah_divine 2 easily a top 3 roster in the sport, adding Cam Coleman is going to be even more impactful than people think. this is make or break for Sark. if Texas misses the playoffs again, he's on the unemployment line.

AoA_nB1 5 2nd year Arch with the addition of one of the best WR in college football should produce a top ten offense. With Muschamp’s defense on the back end, UT should challenge UGA for the top seat in the SEC.
