There are no 3-0 teams, and there are no undefeated teams with 2 P5 wins yet, so the top couple tiers are undefeated teams who have not played an FCS opponent. The stronger away P5 win puts these teams into this category; incidentally, all of these teams played the G5 team at home as well, so the order of this tier falls to human input. I mostly considered the strength of schedule to this point in the season, and the ever-dubious "eye test" as well.

Texas has played no games that were remotely close, whereas most of the other teams in this tier have. They are the clear number 1.

Texas takes my number 1 spot after a dominant win on the road at Michigan, the best win so far early this season. (other best win candidates include Georgia over Clemson and Northern Illinois over Notre Dame) They are 2-0.

Are they really THAT better than Georgia? To be honest, I cannot say with certainty - but as the Longhorns have arguably done more in this rather small sample of two games...I think that warrants a #1 vote here...

Texas beat Michigan resoundingly. I still think it's a worst roster than UGA or OSU but hard to deny the product so far.

Not enough inertia. Probably should be higher.

+1, Texas got a big win over Michigan @ Michigan, unsure how good Michigan actually is at this point, but it’s significant enough for me to bump Texas to #2. Texas should be a CFP contender.

(2-0) - Texas looked efficient at the Big House, slicing up Michigan on third down and making easy work driving downfield in the first half to put the game out of reach almost immediately. With the big win in a hostile environment against a decent Michigan roster, Texas moves up to #2.

Tier 1. Possibly must impressive win of the season so far. Only Georgia over Clemson is close.

That's the best win of the year so far. Texas dominated in the Big House from start to finish and could've made it worse had they not gotten conservative in the 4th. It's enough to jump the Buckeyes, but considering how much Michigan struggled against Fresno State last week, it's not quite enough to vault over the Bulldogs.

If it wasn't obvious last year, Texas is BACK. On the stage of both College GameDay and Big Noon Kickoff, the Longhorns skewered the Wolverines in the Big House 34-12, a scoreline which arguably flattered the hosts. Two more tune-up games await them in the next 2 weeks in UTSA and Louisiana-Monroe.

Quarterback play puts them ahead of Ohio State.
