MWiatrak2077 22 I love numbers, I'm a numbers guy, so here's some fun numbers: Prior to this game, Oklahoma was 11-3 vs. Texas since 2010, with an average margin of victory of 8. Following this game, that MOV is now 4.1, and 11-4. Texas tripled OU in yardage, 585-195, tripled them in first downs, 34-11, as they won the Red River Shootout 49-0, in the largest MOV ever seen in the series. The return of QB Quinn Ewers has sparked new life back into Texas, who've now thrusted themselves right in the depths of Big-12 title contention. It's not necessarily likely, but it's not impossible for Texas to finish 10-2 & make an NY6 bowl game. Most advanced metrics, whether it's SP+, FEI, SRS, have Texas a top 5 team. Personally, with their W/L column, I'm hesitant to move them up any higher, however, this does, at least statistically, appear to be the best Texas team since 2009. HC Steve Sarkisian's job safety is reaching bi-polar levels of calamity, - narrowly losing to #1 Alabama, then losing to TTU, then shutting out OU 49-0, it's been a whirlwind. But for right now, Sarkisian looks more than safe, and appears to be leading Texas to a bright future.

ThePelvicWoo 22 At this point, the undefeated and 1 loss teams are pretty unappealing, so Texas makes my top 25 as the first 2 loss team of the season. Beta_Rank number 4

bretticus33 23 Texas is 4-2, but they’re clearly a top 25 team with Quinn Ewers. I strongly believe they’d be undefeated and in the top 5 had Ewers not missed almost 3 full games. I expect to see Texas rise up the rankings more.

ikindalikelemons 24 Texas, based off of record alone, probably shouldn't be here. It feels early to be ranking 2-loss teams. The issue is that they looked REAL good with Quinn Ewers back. I know OU is in free fall, but it is TOUGH to blank a rival as bad as they did. With a healthy Ewers, this team might have held on against Bama and TTU. We can't rewrite the past and take Texas's two losses out, but if I'm looking at that team play football in their current makeup, they are a ranked-level team.

T-Thugs 25 Texas is 4-2. I would rank them higher if i considered only how good they can be when Quinn Ewers is playing. They have an absolute domination of Oklahoma (3-3) but have losses to Alabama and Texas Tech. They play Iowa State next week and that won't mean much but follow that up with games that could really move them up my rankings.

Dawg-Bite 21 Texas has a major what if with the Ewers injury. We could be talking about an undefeated Texas team with a major argument for #1 in the country rn if it weren’t for that. I believe when Ewers plays Texas is a great team and might even be the best in the Big 12 overall. That might not be the case resume or record wise as of right now but I definitely think if any two loss team should be top 20, it’s this one.
dusklord1 21 Texas is ranked again after eviscerating Oklahoma. If they stay healthy, I'm curious to see how the committee treats a 2-loss Texas closer to the end of the season since one or both losses are wins with Ewers back.

Yelich04 23 NR. The only 2 loss team in my rankings. Oklahoma is having a bad season, but it's still Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout. And they won 49-0. They only lost to Alabama by 1 point, and Texas Tech... yeah that's rough I can't really explain that one, but that game was close. They feel better than the teams I have below them, and so I'm putting them here.

JBonkies 25 (NEW) Texas is the best 2 loss team in the country. 49-0 is an impressive win no matter the opponent, and this time that opponent was a big rival in Oklahoma. Now, Oklahoma has major problems and Gabriel was injured, but Texas took care of business regardless. Texas is 1 injury away from potentially being top 10 in my poll.
