LeWoofle 15 Un-ironic quality loss, the resume dictates they should be lower, but watching the game dictates they should be higher. Personally think the Refs weren't playing favorites, but that they still messed up, and Texas very much could have won this game, "should" only slightly less.

crownebeach 18 I thought Alabama was going to stomp them. This was a great gameplan and a great performance, and I'm upgrading Texas considerably, but I have THOUGHTS about Steve Sarkisian's late-game management decisions and I am certain that you will not want to hear them.
Helifino 18
ShamusJohnson13 18 Texas is unironically back on track. Steve Sarkisian is going to have this program going places (please give him back).

Ch-i-ef 23 If your QB's don't get injured, you probably dominate Bama...Texas....dominating....Bama....what a time. Texas is (almost) back!

ikindalikelemons 23 I don't know, dude, they looked pretty back to me. Here's to hoping Ewers isn't too seriously injured and Texas can seriously push for a great season.

Our-Gardian-Angel 24 I'm sure you'll have those who criticize and make dreadfully unfunny "quality loss" jokes for moving Texas into the top 25 after a defeat, but the Longhorns looked excellent against Bama. It's not like they relied on fluky turnovers or anything, either. Texas genuinely hung right within college football's gold standard and nearly won despite losing QB Quinn Ewers. (Week 2: Alabama 20, Texas 19; Record: 1-1)

PromEmperorHarbaugh 25 This is completely hybrid. My computer poll has Texas narrowly outside the top-25, but I think they earned it. Thus, I'll slot them in just narrowly in the top-25.

Dawg-Bite 12 I honestly wanted to put Texas higher. I don’t know many teams that could’ve played Bama the way they did, much less actually look like the better team. They should’ve won, but they still head into next week with a loss on their record, so I didn’t put them in the top 10 because of that.
MADBuc49 12
Bereft13 13
shadowwingnut 13 Probably should have beaten Alabama with a backup quarterback. Ewers carved up the defense before his injury. And Card basically couldn't run.

MrOrcaDood 16 Quality Loss to Bama that they should have won if a hundred different things went their way. Probably were underrating them in preseason based on how bad they did last year.

Due_Connection179 19 Texas lost and moved up two spots? Mainly because if it weren't for injuries then we are probably talking about how "Texas is back" for the 5th time in 7 years for beating Bama. Not really a "give me" against UTSA this week, so let's see how they bounce back after the last minute loss.

bannista7 21 Exceptional performance by the defense. Texas will have to rely on that D a lot more and manage the next 4-6 weeks (OU in 4 weeks) without Ewers. LW: 21

MaxMan1300 22 As a follow up to my bama reasoning, while its silly to rank someone after a loss, I would 100% count that game as a moral victory for texas. The offense could use some improvement which will be tough after losing ewers, but the fact the defense was flying and making plays in that heat against bama makes them deserving
