bannista7 Ballot for 2022 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 11, 2022, 2:35 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Eye test, previous rank, common opponents, injuries and overall collective performance.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia’s performance against Oregon was so dominate that it still has its effect on jumping Bama and Ohio State after seeing how things have shaken out so far. LW: 3
Alabama Crimson Tide The benefit of the doubt being in Austin is lost when Texas still had a chance with a backup QB that played most of the game. Offensive woes will need to be addressed. LW: 1
Ohio State Buckeyes The win against ND looks even worse after ND’s loss to Marshall. What was a top 10 win is now an 11 point struggle at home against an unranked independent. LW: 2
Michigan Wolverines Like most polls, attrition rankings just fall into place unless teams struggle or dominate. LW: 5
Oklahoma Sooners LW: 8
Clemson Tigers OK jumps Clemson here due to Clemsons offensive struggles against mediocre teams. LW: 7
USC Trojans LW: 10
Oklahoma State Cowboys LW: 11
Arkansas Razorbacks ARK could be 7 with solid wins and performance, but still in wait and see mode. LW: 12
Miami Hurricanes What would be a top 10 matchup is now a possible trap game for Miami if Texas A&M gets their talent figured out. LW: 13
Michigan State Spartans LW: 15
Kentucky Wildcats I didn’t overreact to Florida beating Utah, so UKs win doesn’t have as much weight as it would for those that did. LW: 19
NC State Wolfpack LW: 14
Utah Utes LW: 17
BYU Cougars LW: 23
Baylor Bears LW: 6
Tennessee Volunteers Tough win @Pitt in OT, with a lot of miscues on Special Teams. Give those opportunities to a team who wasn’t playing a hobbled backup QB and they lose that game. LW: NR
Oregon Ducks LW: 20
Ole Miss Rebels LW: 22
Wake Forest Demon Deacons I’ve been cautious about Wake early on due to the unknown timetable for QB Hartman. It looks like they’re back to solid form and their only real questions are just how far they can go. LW: NR
Texas Longhorns Exceptional performance by the defense. Texas will have to rely on that D a lot more and manage the next 4-6 weeks (OU in 4 weeks) without Ewers. LW: 21
Penn State Nittany Lions ND and Wisconsin make room for PSU and UNC. LW: NR
Pittsburgh Panthers OT win with hobbled backup. The oline needs work to protect Slovis more, but that toughness is enough to still do a lot in the ACC. LW: 18
North Carolina Tar Heels ND and Wisconsin make room for PSU and UNC. LW: NR
Florida State Seminoles LW: 25
