shadowwingnut Ballot for 2022 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 11, 2022, 2:11 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Resume + Power Ranking. More Resume than Power Ranking the further we go in the season.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Best team in the country. Bar none. Nobody else is close right now.
Ohio State Buckeyes Win over Notre Dame lost some luster. This is a power ranking spot for now.
Alabama Crimson Tide I'm worried about Alabama. The offensive line and the receivers aren't fixed yet from last year. And that 55-0 destruction of defending Mountain West champ Utah St looks horrible after Utah St. got smushed by FCS Weber St.
Oklahoma Sooners Still untested. Minus a bad quarter and a half out of the offense today. But the defense has been very good.
Michigan Wolverines Talk to me when they play someone
Arkansas Razorbacks I think South Carolina and Cincinnati are both solid wins. Resume over power rank here.
Clemson Tigers Ranked here by default. Defense is still great. Offense is still garbage (but at least not Iowa bad)
Tennessee Volunteers Good road win in Pittsburgh. And won on defense, a real questionmark entering the season
Kentucky Wildcats Kentucky beat Florida in a battle of toughness, much as Florida showed they were as touogh as Utah last week.
USC Trojans Probably headed to the playoff unless Utah can stop them. This schedule stinks. The team is good though.
Kansas State Wildcats I still suspect this might end up the best team in the Big 12. Adrian Martinez looks so much better and more confident here. Poor Missouri had no chance.
BYU Cougars Sure the kickers were terrible. But BYU won, surviving a festival of penalties against Baylor
Texas Longhorns Probably should have beaten Alabama with a backup quarterback. Ewers carved up the defense before his injury. And Card basically couldn't run.
Florida Gators No shame in losing to Kentucky, still have the awesome Utah win on the resume
Utah Utes Speaking of. Recovered to the tune of an angry 73 against FCS sacrifice of the week. Probably is going to go 10-2.
Pittsburgh Panthers Stays here until we know if Kedon Slovis is healthy. He has lots of injury issues at USC and that offensive line is the real weakness of the team.
Florida State Seminoles Enjoyed the early week off I hope.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Looked a bit more like the Oklahoma St of the last two years against Arizona St. With the exception of 2011, the last two years have been Gundy's two best teams.
Marshall Thundering Herd Went to Notre Dame and bullied them. Until someone not highly ranked does it they deserve to be here.
Oregon State Beavers Two quality wins as I think Boise is going to be ok still and Fresno is pretty good.
Michigan State Spartans Haven't played anyone yet. Might lose in Seattle this week.
Baylor Bears Why run off Bohanon? It's clear they don't trust Shapen yet. Also the kicking game has major issues. But the talent is there.
North Carolina Tar Heels Still no defense, but that's three weeks of top class, top caliber offense.
Appalachian State Mountaineers Suddenly looks very good considering they were unlucky against North Carolina
UCLA Bruins Just consider this a placeholder until they play someone.
