bretticus33 3 Another close call for Alabama as they beat A&M in the much-hyped matchup. Saban bested Fisher and did so without his Heisman QB. Alabama is obviously extremely talented, as is the usual, but they just feel like they’re teetering on the edge of losing a big game. The Tide are surviving, but they have to bring their A-game when they play a hot Tennessee in Knoxville.

MWiatrak2077 3 On this Saturday, Alabama was taken down to the wire by Texas A&M as -24.5 favorites, narrowly avoiding the upset vs. the Aggies. Alabama found themselves taking control of this dogfight after a 29 yard pass from QB Jalen Milroe found WR Ja'Corey Brooks to put Alabama up 24-14 midway through the third quarter. Unfortunately for the Crimson Tide, A&M would nail two FGs to make it a 24-20 ballgame with under 3 minutes left to go. After forcing the Alabama punt with 1:50 left in the game, A&M would drive it 69 yards, all the way down to the Alabama 2-yard line, to set up a final play that would decide this contest. A&M QB Haynes King threw an ill-placed ball, which found itself outside of the endzone, near two defenders, at an uncomfortable distance from the WR. All told, a poorly executed play-design by A&M to end the game in an Alabama victory, 24-20. Unfortunately, this game had officiating controversy, as, on the final A&M drive, QB King would throw an INT into the endzone, which was ran out, and drained :03 seconds off the clock. However, it was ruled a DPI, and spotted the ball at the Alabama 2, but the clock never reverted to :06 seconds left, which likely could've given the Aggies a second shot to redeem themselves. Alas, Alabama improves to 6-0, with star QB Bryce Young hopefully returning back into the fold before next weeks top-6 matchup vs. the Volunteers in Knoxville. Despite a rough start (6-0), Alabama remains far from spiraling, as HC Nick Saban continues to lead his Tide to victory, no matter the circumstance.

nw____ 3 Stop playing with your food or I am really going to start to wonder about the strength of this team. Is this a down year? If Bryce Young is out for much longer, they will drop behind Michigan for me-- or at least they *would* if Michigan looked any more convincing.

T-Thugs 5 Alabama is 6-0. They have a nice win over Texas (4-2) and also have wins over Texas A&M (3-3), Arkansas (3-3) and Vanderbilt (3-3). Bama plays Tennessee next week and could reestablish themselves at the top of my poll.

ToeInDigDeep 8 6-0, beat Texas A&M 24-20
YellowSkarmory 8 I have no idea how good Alabama is this year, but their resume really isn't that impressive. A win at Texas is decent, but like... after that, it's just a bunch of wins over 3-3 teams. The trip to Tennessee is gonna be big.

Dawg-Bite 1 I don’t know how the A&M game would’ve went with Bryce Young, plus Texas A&M was the best team out of all the teams the top 4 played.

dusklord1 3 This team will get murdered by Tennessee without Bryce Young. Milroe is not a starting caliber SEC quarterback and Bama should have lost this game if A&M's offense/playcalling huffed a little less glue. However, he should be back next week and give them very good chances at winning on the road against Tennessee.

Yelich04 4 -2. Alabama I did watch though, and Alabama looked bad. I dropped Penn State a bit last week after their turnover laden performance, and I feel like they had more of an excuse because of the awful playing conditions. What was it, 4 turnovers? That was a bad bad game against a team who was soundly defeated by Mississippi State. And Alabama was at home! A&M are not a good football team, and I know Bryce Young was out, but that's not a fair excuse in my opinion. They have to play better than that. And they don't have the luxury of being able to fall back on a really good win like Georgia can. When Alabama face good competition, they play them close (Texas, A&M, a good bit of the Arkansas game). The teams above them don't deal with that issue. That's why they're #4.
