Bukowskified 1 I don't think Alabama could have played a more complete game of football than they did against Vanderbilt. Bama played on another level this week, and god help us if that team continues to show up.
BunnySelfDestruct 1 Big win over Vandy when everyone else struggled. Alabama proved they're in a class all their own, especially when the SEC West is having a down year.

Nathanael-Greene 1 I was planning on bumping Alabama down a spot in favor of Clemson this week, then they went and killed Vanderbilt. Alabama earns the right to stay #1 at this point.

nickknx865 1 If there's one thing my computer ratings and I agree on, it's that Alabama should be #1. Vanderbilt wanted Bama and uhh...they got them, 59 points of them. I'd laugh at how bad Vandy got murdered, but they'll beat us by like 40 in the Third Saturday in October, so who the fuck am I kidding.

boonamobile 2 Alabama (4-0) makes their first poll appearance at #2 with a win over previously undefeated P5 Vanderbilt (3-1). Similar to Michigan, Alabama's opponents are 6-3 (67%) against teams other than Alabama, while their opponents' opponents are an even more impressive 14-4 (78%). However, their victory over Florida State (0-2) still doesn't really count for anything yet, as the Seminoles need to win at least a game or two before they can earn themselves (and Alabama) positive points. That means an FSU win over #17 Wake Forest (4-0) next week could be enough to nudge Alabama past Michigan for #1. Even though Michigan has the week off, they (like every other FBS team) can still see their ranking numbers shift depending on the performances of their previous opponents and opponents' opponents in Week 6.

T-Thugs 2 Alabama looked completely dominant over what I thought was a pretty good Vanderbilt team. I might have moved Alabama to number 1 this week, but Florida State got beat again and that win seems a little less impressive.

stripes361 3 Alabama returned to dominant form last weekend after a couple of lackluster weeks. If Saban is getting them into midseason form, they might roll unopposed through the SEC West.

Knightro2011 6 Someone on r/CFB: "KNIGHTRRRRRRRO, BAMA JUST WON BY 59!!!!"Yes, they did and man, did they look good in doing it. Over 7 yards per play, averaging over 5 points per trip inside the opponents 40 (btw they had 11 of those on 12 drives), but their game against Florida State didn't help them and that is weighing them down.

WhiteBaseCoat 9 PLRCOAT: 6.438. Bama was at 9 last week, and they have... not moved at all. Oh boy. Well. Look, Bama has 4 FBS wins, which gets them in the top 10 this week, but beyond that they just don't have a lot going for them. Both FSUs are 0-pointers while CSU is a 1-pointer; their win over Vandy helps, as the Commodores are at 3.875, but it's still just not a very strong resume. Considering the SEC looks to be somewhat down this year, I'm honestly not sure when, if ever, Alabama is going to get a boost up; looking ahead to next week, Ole Miss is only a 1-pointer right now. You'd think the Seminoles will start to click again, and maybe Vandy will go on a good run, but I'm afraid that the Tide may be stuck outside of the playoff in this ranking for quite a while yet.
