IAMAVelociraptorAMA Ballot for 2017 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 25, 2017, 9:19 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I'm on a short schedule this week so I'm going to pump this out as fast as possible.  Expect a return to form next week.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers
Alabama Crimson Tide
Oklahoma Sooners
Penn State Nittany Lions I will say this: Iowa is a lot better team than most give credit for.
Michigan Wolverines USC and Washington have yet to prove themselves.  Michigan, at least, had Florida.  They get the benefit of the doubt.
USC Trojans
Washington Huskies
Georgia Bulldogs Was Mississippi State's LSU game a fluke, or is LSU just that bad?  Either way, Georgia impresses and with a weak East it's possible they go undefeated.
TCU Horned Frogs You're the real deal.  I'm sorry I doubted you.  P.S.: this retroactively justifies my lower-than-expected ranking for Oklahoma State, so I am smugger than all hell right now
Wisconsin Badgers Ohio State has a lot to prove.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Virginia Tech Hokies I want to hop on the hype train but not just yet. A win against Clemson would be phenomenal; a good loss would be Q U A L I T Y.
Auburn Tigers I don't really want to put Auburn up here, but I realized that if I'm going to put a "will probably lose to Clemson" team at #12, a team that put up the best of fights to Clemson at #13 is consistent.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Silver lining: at least the drop isn't as big on my poll from last week!
Washington State Cougars I'm going to follow the party line from the AP poll and put the lower-tier undefeateds in a row down here.  I don't particularly have an issue with any of them.  I'll look more into their strengths and weaknesses next week, and assuming they're all undefeated, assess where they should go from there.
USF Bulls
San Diego State Aztecs
Utah Utes
Louisville Cardinals They look good.  Not great, but good.  Let's see some more consistency before I jump you ahead of the smaller undefeated teams.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish The loss to Georgia looks much better in retrospect.
Memphis Tigers They don't really deserve to be here either but I don't see them losing any time soon and I want some stability in my bottom 10 dammit!
West Virginia Mountaineers I am a secret WVU fan and hope they succeed.  I doubt they will, and I think they'll drop out after losing to TCU, but it's nice to see them on the list.
Florida Gators Time for three straight SEC teams, none of which really deserve to be here, but it's better than the alternative of just going "eh fuck it" because they're better than nothing.  Florida's offense gave me an aneurysm but at least their defense didn't give up six hundred yards to Mississippi State.
Mississippi State Bulldogs why the hell is LSU ranked above Ms State in the coach polls wtf
LSU Tigers LSU is not very good this year but I don't know what else to do until I have time to look at the bubble teams
