fadingthought Ballot for 2017 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 24, 2017, 2:34 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Not much to say, still the King.
Clemson Tigers Team Chaos was flirting with most teams this Saturday and Clemson was no exception. 27 points in the fourth put the chaos rumors to bed. Bryant's performance is something to note going forward.
Oklahoma Sooners I warned a lot of my friends that the Baylor team showing up in Waco would not be the one we had seen to this point in the season. They were returning multiple talented players and it showed. With OU going into a bye week it will be interesting to see how they rebound.
USC Trojans USC has been grinding out tough wins all season and are probably happy to see other teams get close wins.
Penn State Nittany Lions Iowa after dark is a scary place. Great tough conference win for the Lions. People will point to last second heroics, but when it comes to conference play, winning is hard and shouldn't be overlooked.
Washington Huskies Washington just dominated this game, really great performance. I suspect they are better than I'm ranking them, but I would like a few more data points.
TCU Horned Frogs TCU and Gary Patterson get slept on a lot. Don't underestimate this team, they are talented and well coached and it showed in Stillwater.
Georgia Bulldogs Man, I was high on the Mississippi State train, then it ran square into a bulldog.
Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin and most of the B1G are hard to read right now as conference play isn't in full swing. That said, Wisconsin has a very easy road this season and might not really be tested until November.
Michigan Wolverines Team Chaos flirted with us early before Michigan ran away with it. If Wisconsin has the easiest road, Michigan might have the hardest road though they will probably coast until Penn State
Virginia Tech Hokies Gobble gobble, gobble gobble, gobble gobble gobble gobble. Gobble, Gobble, GOBBLE.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State may have found their offense this week. Don't sleep on the Buckeyes going forward.
Washington State Cougars Dominate win over a very poor Nevada team.
Auburn Tigers Not much learned with Auburn beating up on a bad Mizzou
Oklahoma State Cowboys Team Chaos may have flirted with a whole bunch of teams, but it claimed the Cowboys. The Cowboys had so much success with the home run ball it seemed like they were lost when it wasn't landing as consistently as it had been. I expect them to rebound and be better than ever.
Florida Gators Florida's offense continues to be mind boggling. Florida was behind basically the whole game and pulled out the victory at the very end.
Miami Hurricanes Pretty dominate cupcake win by the Cains. This week's Duke matchup should start to give us some insight into the ACC.
San Diego State Aztecs Air Force is a solid team and it was a pretty back and forth game until they very end.
USF Bulls Bulls continue to dominate.
Utah Utes It isn't always pretty, but the Utes are continuing to rack up wins. I got the USC match circled on my calendar
Texas Tech Red Raiders This OK State match up is going to be classic Big XII. Don't be surprised if the Red Raiders pull off an upset.
Iowa Hawkeyes Heartbreaking loss, but a really great showing by the Hawkeyes
Notre Dame Fighting Irish I was pretty low on the Irish after their loss to Georgia, but man, is that looking better by the day.
West Virginia Mountaineers Don't let the box score fool you, the Mountaineers were in control all game
Louisville Cardinals Good bounce back win after the crushing lost to Clemson.
