Overall Rationale: Every five teams make up a single tier, for a total of five tiers overall. And yes, I will concede that it's mostly just looking at pre-existing preseason polls and modifying it based on vibes (or, if you want somewhat of a serious answer, perceived "momentum" from last season to now). It might not mean much anyhow, but hey, why not have fun at least?

1 Ohio State Buckeyes All eyes on the funny nuts once more...
2 Indiana Hoosiers Meanwhile...the chairchuckers are fixing to prove they ain't no fluke! Maybe I'm giving them TOO much leeway by having them this high...but whatever, they can afford the smoke...
3 Oregon Ducks Ducks, Ducks, Ducks...I must say, I really really REALLY want to see Wildwood in theaters later this fall, but it opens the same weekend that Oregon plays Illinois. I love my stop-motion kino, but attending opening night can risking funneling just enough money to ol' Phil where the Ducks can get the edge...and that's no bueno...
4 Georgia Bulldogs Can you teach old Bulldogs some new tricks? I never really know what to expect from UGA these days...
5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Be it righteous vengeance against conference-network politicking, or a giant sulking session after not getting their way for once - the Hibernian Hoosiers are coming in with a chip on their shoulder!
6 Texas Longhorns One final run for the Chosen Nephew before he ascends to the Great Big League in the Sky...
7 Miami Hurricanes The U is yes-but-also-no-but-also-sorta-but-also-not-really-but-somewhere-in-the-middle-back!
8 Texas A&M Aggies In an alternate universe, the Zloggt family moves to the Houston area when I was just a wee lad (or technically a middle-schooler, but still around the time I begin getting into CFB), and then that guy who keeps doing all those Whose Line threads is instead an Aggie + Sam Houston/Coogs/Texas Southern guy. I'm not sure if I would be THAT different over there, but it's fun to imagine.
9 Ole Miss Rebels The scorned program must now keep continuing living on with the rest of their kids after the coach bailed for the sidepiece he's been eyeing for while (who also took some of the kids himself)...
10 Oklahoma Sooners Bro thought that defense won championships :PPPPP (they did have a good defense, and it IS important...but I feel like being a little stinker lol)
11 Texas Tech Red Raiders Who would've thought that getting pantsed by Oregon in the Orange Bowl ended up being the LESS embarrassing thing to happen to Red Raider football this year?
12 Alabama Crimson Tide I doth wonder how much longer it would take for Bama to FULLY reach that Nebraska level of accepting that it's never going to be same...

16 Penn State Nittany Lions After a strong start, bad middle, strong finish season last year...could they perhaps have a weird bad start, strong middle, bad finish inverse this time? Not really rooting for it, but it would be quite the funny reversal if it DID happen lol.
17 Michigan Wolverines After quite the offseason (and a bit of the previous season)...maybe things will mellow out a bit in Ann Arbor? It's a rather big ask, truth be told...but hey, gotta start somewhere, right?
18 Washington Huskies Maybe the success of that OTHER handegg team in Seattle will rub off on them too?
19 SMU Mustangs For a while, I was like, "Damn, is there ANY ACC teams (apart from Miami) here?" - and then I remembered that SMU was a thing. It STILL doesn't get any less weird after all this time, right?
20 Tennessee Volunteers I am not particularly fond of the Vols (no real animosity either, just not terribly fond), but I would gladly wear the checkered orange-and-white if it meant getting a job offer from Oak Ridge (get the hint, Mr. FBI Guy watching from my camera?).
21 Utah Utes It technically wasn't, but would you reckon that Michigan effectively poached from the Utes after last year? It kind of feels like that to me...a bit, at least...

23 Houston Cougars Wouldn't it be hilarious if the Coogs' football team ended up winning a natty BEFORE their basketball team? I mean, they're a red-colored team who's still new to the top of the FBS after being historically whatever AND ranked somewhere in the 20s like a certain Hoosier team last year...never say never!
24 Boise State Broncos Here we are, finally able to Back the Pac once again! But jeez, that new logo does NOT really appeal to me...looks a bit too edgy and sharp for my taste...sorry I have to use your spot to soapbox about my minute critiques, Boise, but at least I can try to ignore that new logo once I see that big beautiful blue turf on my TV screen #AfterDark!
25 Missouri Tigers ...fuck it, why not? It's my poll, everybody else is already doing it, and you can easily ignore preseason polls once the games actually start. I do not mind having some fun, ok? It's been a long offseason, let me entertain my biased side a bit!
