| Justanother_0 | 7 | I will admit that this might seem high for a team that could barely score against Texas Tech in two games, but I have my reasons for them being the #1 Big XII team. For one, I expect the Bear to take a step forward this year in his play, and mind you he already had over 3000 yards of combined offense last season. Despite some hits to skill positions, I expect the losses incurred by the Cougars to not be glaringly obvious on either the statsheet or in the final score of any of the games BYU plays. If the offense improves to such a level that the Bear is able to terrorize defenses of higher talent, then these guys are genuine playoff contenders, with the best shot out of anyone in the Big XII to win the national title. |

| Doogitywoogity | 8 | I’m high on BYU this year. They do have a tougher Big XII schedule with Arizona, Utah, TCU (who I may be overestimating in fairness), plus OOC Notre Dame means they’ve got to earn it. |

| Lefunnymaymays4lief | 11 | Don’t think the loss of Jay Hill will affect them as much as people think. Will likely still be one dimensional on offense, though Martin and Bachmeier make it EXTREMELY fun to watch. Have the opportunity to make statements with a BXII title and/or an upset over Notre Dame |

| redrumsoxLoL | 12 | I keep waiting for BYU to make the jump from "very good" to "great" and this could wind up being the year. Their defense is strong and their offense should continue to improve under Big-12 freshman of the year Bear Bachmeier. |

| TheUltimate721 | 12 | The gap between BYU and Tech is a lot smaller than ever before, mostly because of what Tech has lost, but don't underestimate BYU this year. They've got a great opportunity in non-conference too with their matchup with Notre Dame. |

| lowes18 | 15 | BYU returns what might be one of the most underrated interior offensive lines in the country in 2026. I have no doubt this team will be able to effectively run the ball and play well on defense, however I have major concerns when it comes to this teams passing game. Their WR unit projects to be bad and I have little faith in Bachmeier as a passer, but with the talent everywhere else this team should play above their deficiencies to a good season. |

| EpicSchwinn | 16 | Defense has DUDES, but lost their DC. If they kept the whole band together I think they’d be higher and would have a legit shot at Tech this year. If they still have that juice, I think we’ll see them in the conversation in November. |
