ChBass 4 Ok, Hoosiers... it's not that bad. Ohio State was power rated #4; that loss doesn't hurt much, it's more than offset by the North Texas win. You are still one of two teams with both a top-10 offense and defense, and this year, one loss will not knock you out of the playoff.

Comment: The Hoosiers losing a game I thought they were going to lose by the narrowest of margins doesn't really hurt my perception of them, so they don't really drop much at all.

While it's near-impossible to replicate the highs that last year's national champions were able to pull off, this year's Indiana has certainly been flirting with disaster at a few points throughout the season so far. Hoover is still too inconsistent with his throwing accuracy, which has lowered the ceiling of the Hoosier offense, and the defense and special teams alone can only do so much. Even with these hiccups, Indiana had the chance to seal the victory late vs the Buckeyes, only for Hoover to send it a little too far to the sideline and receiver Nick Marsh to make a costly misstep out of bounds. The rest of the schedule is quite manageable, and B1G title hopes aren't dashed yet, but Curt Cignetti will need to make some key fixes, and quickly.

Justanother_0 6 Throw that final pass to the right by a foot and the Hoosiers are at least #2. Hoover might not be the QB X-Factor that Cignetti was hoping for, but this is still a very solid team that I expect to get a home game come December.

Maladroit44 6 It's a game of inches. Indiana could've so easily had this one, and the win would've come in true Indiana fashion: trailing most of the way, yet using gritty defense to ensure the game never got out of hand while eventually building up to a spectacular game-winning drive. They did about 99.9% of that, then set one foot out of bounds and it all fell apart. I know some people think this sounds insane, but I do kinda miss the days when that high drama was accentuated further by knowing that the Hoosiers would now need to win out and get some help to re-earn their shot at a championship. As it is, they'll need to win out and get some help to...get a first-round bye.

Lefunnymaymays4lief 10 (-5) Hoover is what I thought he was. Tragic ending for the Hoosiers and especially Nick Marsh, but they’re not gonna sniff a playoff win if he can’t get a clean pocket on 90% of his dropbacks. Which, against even decent competition, is an unreasonable ask. However their secondary which has previously been picked on a little bit did give me a vote of confidence in that game, limiting Smith until that absolute prayer to give the Bucks the lead
placid_salad 10 LW: #7
Ruhrgebietheld 10
sgtshenanigans 10 Indiana's defense is legit and nasty possibly elite and were able to shut down the numerous weapons of Ohio State. Corralling Jeremiah Smith for most of the game. And even after Ohio State scored and took the lead late in the game the Indiana offense was still able to put themselves within a foot of winning but their receiver inexplicably seemingly made no effort to keep one foot in bounds on a wide open potential touchdown. With their schedule pretty soft the rest of the way Indiana still has a pretty good shot of making the BIG championship.

_THE__BOULDER_ 6 Indiana lost this game by literal inches. While their offense struggled throughout the game, they did have a good chance to walk off with the win at the very end and it fell through. This year's offense, as I have mentioned before, is nowhere near the level of last year's. But that defense looked very good yesterday, with their main mistake being giving up a 38 yard touchdown to Smith. Indiana doesn't have a lot of firepower left to play against - Michigan might have more potential now that they're looking at a QB change, but USC is the only other team with much of a pulse on their schedule, even if I don't think USC is very good.
