Georgia is ahead of Tennessee by the basis of being a more complete team. I need to see more from Tennessee's offense in the passing game.

Comment: I'm willing to chalk their loss to Auburn up as rivalry game funkiness and still like them a lot the rest of the way. It certainly stings, but I think they have enough good wins already plus some good wins to come to think they still deserve to be up this high

nw____ 4 Probably falling victim to my bias here. I still think this is the best team in the country. I should probably have them lower though, especially since you can’t even blame the Auburn loss on Jordan-Hare voodoo magic. Auburn just bullied them. They Georgia’d them. Was it a letdown after a huge game v Bama or is Georgia worse than I thought? I’d pick UGA in a rematch and yet Auburn’s win did not feel fluky to me.

Maladroit44 5 What the hell, guys? This was the one team I felt truly confident in after the last couple weeks, and then they come home and completely dash that confidence against a thoroughly unremarkable Auburn. To make matters worse, the schedule suddenly looks...not particularly revealing, to say the least. The Bulldogs will finish the season with two ranked games against Alabama and Ole Miss, but will they have any others? I certainly don't think Florida and Mizzou are good enough to deserve a spot right now, nor are they good enough to tell us more about Georgia. Well, unless *they* beat the Dawgs, too.

Lefunnymaymays4lief 8 (-7) No matter how you slice it, losing as 3 score favorites at home against a previously lifeless rival after giving up 21 unanswered looks quite bad. And it is! But 90% of that was turnovers and some real big oopsie daisies. Those are things that can be pretty handily fixed in a week’s time… and hey look it’s a bye week! Right before the Cocktail Party too. Dawgs can very easily bounce back

sgtshenanigans 8 Georgia takes their first L of the season against Auburn. Auburn controlled the middle half of the game and benefitted from some miscues from Gunner Stockton. This loss being as bad as it is and Gunner Stockton being as underwhelming as he has makes me seriously if Georgia was fools gold. The Oklahoma win which may have once been impressive really isn't and The Win against Alabama really felt skewed by the refs. Georgia will get to prove themselves one way or the other with their schedule remaining difficult ahead still.

Zef_Apollo 8 Losing to an unranked team at home when they couldn't stop a terrible auburn offense - they need to drop lower for me, especially since I have them an asterisk in the losses column. UGA could easily be 2 losses so that holds them back for now.

HieloLuz 10 Bucket C is a hodgepodge group of the teams with only 1 quality win and 1 loss, and those with 2 or 3 quality wins but 2 losses (and holds most of the SEC shitshow)

Georgia launched to the #1 spot from #23 for finally picking up a quality win over Alabama, but the loss to Auburn sends them tumbling down. Best win of the bucket gets them the top spot.

Tornadohunter24 10 [6-1, 4-1 SEC] (-9) | SOR: #10 | Notable Results: W 20-17 @ #13 Alabama [5-2], L 24-27 vs HM Auburn [4-2] |

NOTE: I'll get into the brief analysis in a second. However, joy has been hard to come by this year for my Jackets, and so I must take my laughs when I can. LOL, nice going dawgs. WDE!

Moving on, what looked to be the new consensus #1 team in the country set out to play a hated rival in Auburn at home in a game they were favored to win by 3 scores. They then blew a 14-0 lead, had their starting QB literally fumble away the game late in the 4th quarter, and could only watch helplessly as the Bulldogs under Smart took the worst loss under his reign since his first year in charge. While they still control their own destiny in the SEC and for the playoffs, such a slip-up cannot be allowed to happen again. They still might be the best in the SEC, but this past Saturday did not support that thesis whatsoever.

Georgia has the deepest top-25 résumé: its rule wins include Alabama (20-17 on the road), Ohio State, Texas, LSU, Kentucky and New Mexico. The home loss to Auburn added rule losses to Auburn, Florida and Tennessee. Georgia still holds 3rd, but its range widened.

GrimmacingGrinny 7 Georgia fell to Auburn, and their best win also lost. With Alabama losing soundly to Tennessee, the teams we thought were atop the SEC really aren’t. It also makes Georgia’s resume much more difficult to evaluate as it has a good win over a now 2 loss Alabama team, a loss to an unranked Auburn team and no other wins against teams above .500.

_THE__BOULDER_ 8 Lost at home to an unranked Auburn. Stockton looked terrible out there. Leading up to this game, he had been one of, if not the best, QB in terms of QBR. Three total turnovers (2INTs, 1FUM), a limited rushing game, very out of character game for UGA. Auburn basically out-Georgia'd the Bulldogs and it was something to see. I thought Smart had drilled those kinds of games out of his QBs, as they tend to be efficient even if not the best out there, but this was certainly not a good game for them. Bye week then the Cocktail Party on Halloween.
