CarbonCamaroZL1 11 Georgia didn't dominate App State score-wise, however they did a decent job of putting up 31 points on them before letting off (allowing App State to score 10 points in the 4th quarter).
HarbingerOfFun 11
BunnySelfDestruct 12 They beat App state, this bump up may be more of a result the teams that were ahead of them under performing than anything Georgia actually did. That said, I still consider App St. favorites to win their conference so we'll notch this one as a quality win until otherwise informed.

beerslingerjay 14 Georgia was able to quickly snuff out the mythical juices of "Week 1 Appy State" and show why they're the front runner in the SEC East. We'll have to see how Fromm takes the reigns, but really all Georgia needs is a healthy duo of Chubb and Michel. They'll be fine.

Nathanael-Greene 14 An App State upset over the Bulldogs was something everyone was talking about leading up to this game, but Georgia was having none of it and won a sound victory over the Mountaineers, giving them no chance to breathe for most of the game.

stripes361 14 Georgia drops slightly this week from #12 due to Jacob Eason's injury in their season opener. It will be interesting to see whether they can generate any sort of passing attack against Notre Dame this weekend. An anemic offense could lead to an even bigger drop in the rankings.
TaylorLeprechaun 14 +2: Eason's injury could harm this team, but Fromm looked promising.  Performed better than I expected, especially without their starting QB gives them the jump over Louisville (and a Florida team that lost).

BosskOnASegway 15 Fromm for Heisman?  Honestly, Georgia looked like the only team on the field many plays, I am not sure what to make of it.  App State is normally pretty good, maybe they aren't this year?  Or maybe Georgia is much better than I anticipated,  Notre Dame next week, I expect a double digit win.

MarlinsGuy 15 Losing Eason is not good, and now they'll have to rely on a true freshman. Eason's not lost for the season though, and the freshman was a highly rated recruit who should do ok, but he's still a true freshman which is why I'm dropping them. Georgia's got a lot of talent though
mjacksongt 15 Fromm looks better than Eason, but he has a bit too much of the gunslinger in him.  Michel is still better than Chubb. That DL is good.  We'll find out a lot more this week, especially about the OL.

corundum9 16 It will interesting to see how much the loss of Eason is for Georgia over the next several weeks. Luckily the rushing attack looked dominate enough to carry them. The Notre Dame match up just became more interesting.

Extra_Excrement 16 The Bulldogs looked solid in a win over App State (likely Sun Belt Champions). App State returned plenty of starters on both sides of the ball yet would've gotten shutout if not for Mountaineer MVP Ramsey. Most UGA fans knew that the defense would be the strongest part of the team but expectations were still very high for the offense. In Chaney's second year, he gets to work with Eason, Michel, Chubb, Nauta, and many other talented players. Unfortunately, Eason's injury adds uncertainty to the mix. The offensive line looks slightly improved so Chubb and Michel should have more fun than last year. The week two game against ND will tell us how poised Jake Fromm truly is.

WhiteBaseCoat 16 I've said it before and I'll say it again, nobody is in a better position this year than Georgia when you look at both talent and experience, and it's not particularly close. Like, if Richt was still with this team (and no, stop it, you put those I-told-you-so's away, the reason the roster looks like this is because of Kirby's recruiting and because a handful of NFL prospects bought into him enough to come back and trust that he'll develop their draft stock), the Bulldogs would be getting extraordinary preseason hype, so much so that it would likely result in the destruction of the program and the disbandment of all Georgia sports teams at every level of competition. Even the little league teams. Especially the little league teams. There are reasons Georgia isn't reaching these near-apocalyptic expectations, however. Richt isn't coaching this team, Kirby Smart is, and his report card from last year was a resounding meh-to-poor with a handful of "oh hey that wasn't bad" scattered throughout. He is in year 2, which means he could see a bump, but that's not necessarily something you can depend on. Also, Jacob Eason is out indefinitely. Jake Fromm may be good enough to carry the team, but he's a true freshman, so that's not exactly reassuring. Also, the #2 team on that list of "teams whose combination of talent and experience sets them up perfectly" is Texas, so let's just keep sticking with with the wait-and-see approach, yeah?

jmac_21 17 Georgia's QB Fromm looked pretty solid in the season opener. If they can get him to flourish Georgia has a real chance at running away with the SEC East.

Cobainism 18 App State couldn't repeat The Horror on its 10th anniversary, as Georgia rolled to a 31-10 victory. After QB Jason Eason limped off the field with an injury, QB Jake Fromm steadied the ship well. RBs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel had great days running the football, both almost reaching reaching 100 yards each. Next week's matchup vs Notre Dame will be a fun one, no matter how how ridiculously overpriced the tickets are.

Arsenal7X 19 Jacob Eason is ded but they have another highly recruited QB up next in Jake Fromm State Farm.
Bill3ffinMurray 19 I think Georgia, like Auburn, were overrated in the preseason poll. But they quickly dispatched the Mountaineers looking to claim the scalp of another Top 25 team. Can't fault a team for winning (sorry Miami).
BoboIsDead 19 (-) Waiting to see about the Eason injury, but there are FAR worse backup options than Fromm.  They're filled with talent, but I'm still waiting to see a spark from Kirby as a head coach.

GilBrandt 25 Georgia barely cracked my week 1 ranking with their win over a usually solid App St team. Definitely did better with them than Tennessee did last season. I expect Georgia to rise in the rankings when tougher opponents come around.
