theeguy Ballot for 2017 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 5, 2017, 5:36 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Still heavily based in conjecture and previous seasons/recruiting. Currently weighting how well a team plays over who they beat/lost to.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Beat a solid FSU team, but wasn't truly dominant. Definitely beatable and will be interesting how they react to losing some depth on the D.
Clemson Tigers Played well against an overmatched team. We'll see if the offense truly is just reloading against Auburn's D.
Penn State Nittany Lions Looked good against an overmatched team. Didn't struggle unlike some other teams
Ohio State Buckeyes Didn't look particularly crisp against mediocre competition, and still haven't seen JT Barrett make throws down the field. If he doesn't progress, they are likely to drop as the season goes on.
Oklahoma Sooners Not completely sold on OU without Stoops, but we'll get a good idea where they stand this weekend.
USC Trojans Struggled against a WMU team that flew across country and I'm expecting to have a significant drop off this year.
Stanford Cardinal Probably a little too high, but they looked damn good against Rice. Doesn't seem to be much of a drop off to their new RB, and, with a solid schedule that's definitely manageable, should be fighting for a playoff spot all year
Oklahoma State Cowboys Looks good against a not-terrible Tulsa team before letting their foot off the gas. Not sure if they have to depth to go all the way, but looking good right now
Florida State Seminoles They hung with Bama until the turnovers caused the levy to break. HUGE loss with Francois going down, but giving them the benefit of the doubt until we see the frosh play
Michigan Wolverines Maybe too high here, because Florida was missing half their team and still have yet to figure out this "offense" thing
Auburn Tigers TCB with overmatched team. We'll see where they fit next week
Wisconsin Badgers
LSU Tigers
Washington Huskies
Miami Hurricanes
Virginia Tech Hokies
Georgia Bulldogs
Louisville Cardinals
Kansas State Wildcats
Colorado Buffaloes
TCU Horned Frogs
West Virginia Mountaineers
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
USF Bulls
Maryland Terrapins Not going to lie, I /really/ couldn't find anyone I wanted to put here, so we'll go with Maryland on the off chance that Texas isn't terrible again.
