CarbonCamaroZL1 4 Rutgers came out strong, but Washington also made the necessary changes second half to win the game. They will not be dropped purely because they played a B1G team and the 2 teams below them played MAC/C-USA teams with their dominate victories. Washington's performance does not signify a playoff team, however.

stripes361 4 Washington had a shaky performance against Rutgers this week, outgaining the Knights by a mere 368-309 yards in a 30-14 victory. On a different week, this game may have gotten them bumped down a notch. Instead, with most teams either struggling or playing cupcakes, they're up one spot to #4 after FSU lost Deondre Francois to injury.Chalk this one up to East Coast travel. If they struggle with Montana or Fresno State, they will start falling down the rankings.

beerslingerjay 5 Jake Browning didn't have his best stuff, but it was more than enough to put away a seemingly improved Rutgers. They won't really be tested until Week 4, so I expect the offense to get its footing before traveling to Colorado.
BorisNumber1 5
BunnySelfDestruct 5 Sure they struggled against Rutgers, but I think they're still my favorite to win the Pac 12. Performances like this probably leave them out of the playoff because they lose 2 games, but they have become my Pac 12 favorite after USC nearly dropped a game to a Directional Michigan.

jmac_21 6 Washington had a very difficult time with Rutgers last week. I give them somewhat of a pass because of how far from home they were, and this was just the opener. They outscored Rutgers 20-7 in the second half.

Arsenal7X 7 Look, Rutgers might be improved, but Washington should have handled them a bit better than they did. Dropping them 3 spots is probably harsh, but like I said, the first few polls of the season are really fluid so the Huskies have all the chance in the world to jump back up.

corundum9 7 Came out slow against Rutgers, but they also gave up over 300 yards to them last year on their way to the playoffs. Petersen is an elite coach so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Check back later.

Extra_Excrement 7 Do not sleep on Petersen and the Huskies. USC may be the Pac-12 favorite but Washington is right behind them. Browning returns to make a run for the Heisman. His job is certainly easier with Gaskin coming back too. Their defense might not live up to last year's performance but I think they'll remain as one of the best in the west.

Nathanael-Greene 7 Washington struggled against Rutgers on Friday night in New Jersey, and for the moment it's unknown if Rutgers has improved or the Huskies have fallen backwards. Seeing as Rutgers has been bad in recent years, the Huskies fall out of the Top 4 in my poll, but as they still won the game by double digits, they remain the Top 10.

HarbingerOfFun 8 UW drops a bit because they struggled against Rutgers, though, to be fair, Rutgers looked very good, on defense.
Jpkun 8 Washington played one of the more interesting games of the first week against Rutgers. Rutgers played a surprisingly stout defensive game and game Washington a game. Although Washington did not cover the spread, I think this has more to do with Rutgers' improvements.
justsaynotoreddit 8 (-1) .Kept it too close against Rutgers, but mainly dropped just as a result of tOSU's rise.

Bill3ffinMurray 9 It's never easy to go on the road and win, no matter where you play, even Piscataway. Rutgers even installed a hot tub on top of their student section to encourage a bigger crowd! The defending Pac-12 champs struggled with the Scarlet Knights early, but showed their quality in the end as they pulled away to the 16-point victory. The Huskies should continue to improve as the season goes on, and they should be the frontrunner in the Pac-12 North.

ChickenTaco 9
Cobainism 9 Are the Huskies a contender or pretender? Their yawn-inducing OOC will delay that answer for the next few weeks until they meet Colorado on September 23. The long flight to New Jersey may have affected QB Jake Browning and the offensive line's sluggish start, but ultimately UW came out on top by two touchdowns vs. Rutgers. Look out for LB Azeem Victor as returns from his suspension for violating team rules.

BosskOnASegway 10 An early struggle against Rutgers, caused doubts early, but the second half absolved them.  They will have to prevent recurrences of that first half team if they want to repeat in the PAC and make another playoff run.

T-Thugs 11 Washington started the season with a road win at Rutgers. Rutgers was pretty bad last year, but that is a road win over a P5 school. Until we get a bit more data, this counts as a decent win in my book.
Techwid 11
Ticklebump 11 Handled a surprisingly resilient Rutgers. Good boys.
WhiteBaseCoat 11 Washington lost a lot on defense, and they don't have quite enough talent for me to expect them to fix that quickly. They certainly had some struggles against Rutgers, though that was a Friday night game and week 1 and yada yada yada. I also don't know if Jake Browning is as good as he's been advertised in the past - a lot of programs would love to have him, don't get me wrong, and he's by no means a bad quarterback, but I feel like he doesn't have great pocket presence, among other quibbles. However, he's been with the offense a few years now, and it's Chris Petersen, which means I still trust this team more than everybody from Auburn on down.
