jmac_21 Ballot for 2017 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Bama made Florida State look plain average. Looks like they are just as good as last year. Offense has room to improve but the defense is so good that they can cover for them.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State stumbled a bit early, but I'm willing to give them a pass because it was a Thursday road conference game. They really poured it on late in the game.
Clemson Tigers New QB Kelly Bryant looks very solid and the Tigers rolled over Kent State just like expected. Defense looks unreal.
Oklahoma Sooners OU took care of business at home. Besides the first drive the defense looked fairly solid, obviously the big test is this weekend @ Ohio State.
USC Trojans USC struggled just a bit at home with a pesky Western Michigan team. They showed some good flashes and I expect them to be much better moving forward. They have a big test this week with Stanford.
Washington Huskies Washington had a very difficult time with Rutgers last week. I give them somewhat of a pass because of how far from home they were, and this was just the opener. They outscored Rutgers 20-7 in the second half.
Michigan Wolverines Michigan is good, makes me wish I had gone with my gut and put them in the top 5 to start the season. They'll need slightly better QB play going forward, not sure how many games a team can win after throwing back to back pick-6's.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State took care of business at home, and Barkley looks like an early season Heisman contender.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Oklahoma State did Oklahoma State type things. They really have a knack for throwing the deep ball. If you put any of their receivers in 1on1 coverage they will make you pay.
Florida State Seminoles FSU showed some real heart in their game with Alabama, unfortunately losing Francois is going to hurt them a lot. That defense could be special though.
Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin started a little slow like many teams did in their opener, but when they turned it on, they really turned it on. Looks like this could be a sneaky Badgers team.
Auburn Tigers I think Auburns defense is legit. They made light work of Georgia Southern. If they can find a way to get solid QB play they'll be dangerous.
Stanford Cardinal Stanford made light work of Rice, and had this week off in prep for their big clash with USC.
LSU Tigers LSU made the BYU Cougars look like a weak opponent. QB Etling went 14-17 for 171 yards passing. If they get that kind of QB play the sky is the limit for the talented Tigers.
Louisville Cardinals Louisville really struggled with Purdue, but the Cardinals still have their Heisman winning QB, and he is still clutch.
Kansas State Wildcats KState like a lot of teams started a little slow, but really turned it on the second quarter forward. They could be exciting this year.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia's QB Fromm looked pretty solid in the season opener. If they can get him to flourish Georgia has a real chance at running away with the SEC East.
TCU Horned Frogs TCU made quick work of their week one opponent 63-0. One of the few Texas schools to show up this week.
Virginia Tech Hokies Virginia Tech was impressive in their slugfest with WVU. VT could be a sneaky team in the ACC this year. They have a very stout defense.
Miami Hurricanes Miami did its thing in week one and RB Walton had 148 yards on just 16 carries.
Washington State Cougars I wont lie, I sorta forgot Falk was still at WSU. With him at the QB position WSU could sneak up and beat anybody in the Pac-12.
Tennessee Volunteers Tennessee stood up to a good looking Georgia Tech team and found a way to win. They have athletes all over the field. I'm taking a bit of a risk by putting them in the top 25, but I like a lot of what I saw from them Monday night.
USF Bulls USF is still a trendy pick, they're 2-0 even though they struggled at times in both of their games. I still believe that they'll mess around and end up with a phenomenal team by the end of the season.
West Virginia Mountaineers WVU came up just a bit short in their game with VT Sunday night. Even though they lost they showed a lot of potential and bright spots. I think the Mountaineers will be really good.
Florida Gators Florida ran into a really tough squad in Michigan and were missing a lot of their players due to team suspensions. The Gator defense is legit and they still have a chance to have a great season.
