BosskOnASegway Ballot for 2026 Week 8

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Oct. 19, 2026, 12:24 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Feel free to ask about the SoS, alternative SoS (eg what if we measured from a different level of eliteness rather than gate of the top 25), SoR, overall ranking, the per game implied ratings breakdowns or anything else about the top 25 or any other team in FBS. Some of the rankings seem strange quickly become clear once you look at the per game implied ratings breakdown.

Strength of schedule and remaining strength of schedule are computed from the expected record of the #25 team (this week Arizona) against the same schedule. If you are interested in their projected records let me know.

Miami holds onto #1 despite dropping 93.7 points for only beating Florida State by 8 at home since everyone behind them lost or dropped too. Georgia's home loss to Auburn cost them 246.4 points, the biggest single-week drop of the season so far. BYU's win over Notre Dame jumps them to #3, and Tennessee's win over Alabama jumps them 14 spots to #10. Alabama falls to #5: the Tennessee loss plus the Georgia loss devaluing their best win in the same afternoon.

Here are the top 30 + changes and SoS.
