Lefunnymaymays4lief Ballot for 2026 Week 8

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 20, 2026, 3:27 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Whatever the hell was in the water Saturday

Rank Team Reason
BYU Cougars (+5) If only ND had freaky Nikki on the sideline, which has been the only thing can stop a Bear in 2026. The circumstances were sus, but A) so was Miami’s and that was against lowly FSU and B) ND put themselves in that position to let the officials make an oopsy. Cougs are #1, full stop.
Miami Hurricanes (+1) Whatever ND-Miami O/U is right now, bet the over. On every single website. You will receive generational wealth. 2024 Miami is back baby
Ohio State Buckeyes (+1) Sayin may not really be a guy, but now he’s lost until possibly the postseason. You have to wonder if Fahey or TSC are gonna fair any better if they didn’t enter the game before his injury considering how poorly Sayin was playing. Once again though, Jeremiah Smith simply cannot be denied
Ole Miss Rebels (+8) If Ole Miss can keep up this kind of play defensively with how proficient they’ve been all season on the other side of the ball, they will run away with the SEC to little fanfare from anyone outside Oxford
Texas Tech Red Raiders (+6) And there is the complete performance we’ve been waiting for from Tech. Is Arizona State even remotely close to the same program they were two years ago? Probably not, but the team who played against Colorado a couple weeks ago doesn’t shellack ASU the way this one did. Very positive sign, let’s see if they can ride that momentum
UCLA Bruins (+3) At this rate, I am afraid UCLA may not be able to afford the Brinks trucks that several top tier programs not meeting expectations are about to throw at Bob Chesney. Just good ol smashmouth football from the place you’re least expecting it. Wisconsin and Oregon are nice feathers in the cap despite the latter losing some luster
Utah Utes (+1) Serious, serious fraud alert for the Utes after that gross game against the Buffs, but I’m still a believer in Dampier. Scalley (and Whitt’s underperforming Wolverines) is also making Utah brass look like absolute geniuses for making the succession plan move forward at the perfect time
Georgia Bulldogs (-7) No matter how you slice it, losing as 3 score favorites at home against a previously lifeless rival after giving up 21 unanswered looks quite bad. And it is! But 90% of that was turnovers and some real big oopsie daisies. Those are things that can be pretty handily fixed in a week’s time… and hey look it’s a bye week! Right before the Cocktail Party too. Dawgs can very easily bounce back
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-7) And ND’s loss looks demonstrably better than UGA’s on paper. On the field though? Those weren’t oopsie daisies. That was a complete organizational failure. BYU deserves a lot of credit for their preparation and performance, but ND deserves zero praise anywhere. Soft playcalling (on both sides of the ball!), Carr and Denbrock completely misaligned, skill players completely mismanaged between no WR rotation thousands of feet above sea level and abandoning both Nolan James and Jonaz Walton. They should score on Miami… but I doubt ND’s ability to keep their playmakers in check with the soft zones. Even at home.
Indiana Hoosiers (-5) Hoover is what I thought he was. Tragic ending for the Hoosiers and especially Nick Marsh, but they’re not gonna sniff a playoff win if he can’t get a clean pocket on 90% of his dropbacks. Which, against even decent competition, is an unreasonable ask. However their secondary which has previously been picked on a little bit did give me a vote of confidence in that game, limiting Smith until that absolute prayer to give the Bucks the lead
Houston Cougars (+6) The BXII may not only be a two bid league at this point… we’re potentially looking at three. You could do much worse defensively against such a prolific offense like the Pokes. Weigman and Fritz are cooking. Other than BYU, you’re looking at the most balanced squad in the conference right now
Tennessee Volunteers (+12) Three straight TSIOs in Neyland for Tennessee? With THIS Tennessee??? How??? Jim Knowles defenses usually take a year to settle in and yet they already look like the best defensive unit in Heupel’s tenure??? Even more than that 24 defense????? HOW???George MacIntyre’s breakout game was THIS??? HOW??? Nothing about these Vols make any sense at all man
Kentucky Wildcats (+3) If your SEC top 4 through seven weeks was UGA, OM, Tennessee and UK, shut the fuck up you are LYING. Will Stein, you are him. Kenny I miss you please come back to SB next year
Wake Forest Demon Deacons (+4) Gio Lopez making waves after leaving UNC was not on my radar. Jake Dickert is also about to get a serious payday. If SMU steps on another rake (likely) they are 100% getting another shot at Miami in December
USC Trojans (HM) >Do nothing >win
Alabama Crimson Tide (-10) The first time losing two games in a row since Saban’s debut season. That was 20 fucking years ago, Christ. I said last week Russell looked like a 5 star freshman, both the 5 star and the freshman parts. This week… pretty much only looking at the freshman part. Maybe even high school senior would be more appropriate. Also, similarly to ND, this secondary is WAY too talented to get embarrassed like that. Also similarly to ND, their coordinators are fucking hacks who shouldn’t currently have jobs
Iowa Hawkeyes (+2) >also do nothing >win slightly less
Boise State Broncos (+4) Start the campaign for GameDay at home against Oregon State on November 14 RIGHT NOW
SMU Mustangs (NR) The Ponies play ugly as hell, and not in the “football team from 50 years ago” kind of ugly. More in the “this team keeps falling on their faces but somehow in the endzone too sometimes” way. This is not sustainable but fuck is it SO fun to watch
Arizona Wildcats (+3) No one really seems to be talking about these guys. 14th year senior Noah Fifita and his loyalty in the modern age of CFB is something I deeply respect. And he’s still quite good! He also played with Jacob Cowing. He’s in his 3rd year in the NFL. Isn’t that fucked up?
Missouri Tigers (-6) Mizzou is at the top of the mediocre SEC 2 loss heap. I understand losing to the Rebs, but almost goose egging against what was previously perceived as a mediocre at best defense is not a building block for future success. It seems they’re missing Ahmad Hardy more than you thought
Auburn Tigers (NR) Do I expect them to remain on this poll by season’s end? Hell no! But going on the road in TDSOR against a previously #1 Georgia and clawing your way back from a 3 score deficit regardless of the circumstances is going to get you recognition from me
Florida Gators (NR) What the hell even are you guys. What do I even say here? Good job? Where was this the last two weeks? I don’t fucking know!
Texas Longhorns (-15) That now makes two botched developments of cream of the crop QB recruits in a row for Sark. And with the overall talent on this roster? If they lose one more game and find themselves on the outside looking in, he should be done. Currently looking like the Jimbo Fisher of Brian Kellys. OSU win is carrying them HARD because otherwise they’ve looked worse than pedestrian since
Northwestern Wildcats (-4) I mean, what has NW done other than embarrass an honestly embarrassing themselves PSU team, look decent against a lesser IU encore, and barely squeak by a hapless MSU? Not much. But I can honestly say the same thing about LSU at this point so I went with record instead | DROPPED: (13) Oklahoma State, (14) Mississippi State, (20) Wisconsin, (25) Nebraska | HONORABLE MENTIONS: LSU, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Oregon, James Madison
