owl_man 4 Yes, I know this is ridiculously high for them. But I believe in Dave Aranda, and I believe he's going to take Baylor to heights Rhule and (he who I won't name) never took them took.
PHubbs 4
SpadeRyker 4 Maybe I'm a bit high on this team despite it losing a few key contributors from a season ago. But they return enough from a team that was maybe one win away from making the playoffs for me to be optimistic. The Big 12 is wide open enough to where I would expect them to not only challenge for the title again but to also be favorites this time out.

nw____ 9 I am a big Aranda guy and the top-10 ranking is like 75% based on him. I don't care who is playing for him, you're going to get a tough, physical team who will give you everything you can handle. Fortunately for Aranda, though, the players are also excellent. I love what Jeff Grimes does with all of the outside zone he runs. There is nothing fancy about this team-- they're just daring you to stop them. The problem? Not all that many teams can. They certainly punched OU in the mouth last season. I think their chances of repeating as Big XII champs hinge on their ability to do that again-- and they may pull it off.

woakley 10 Baylor is hard to predict as they were a very good team last year, but they lose a lot of production in their secondary and WR groups. Their recruiting in 2021 also wasn't the strongest, but Aranda has been able to do more with less

bretticus33 14 The defending Big 12 champions have high hopes after a surprising 2021 season that resulted in a Sugar Bowl win. Most of their stellar defense returns, but Blake Shapen is taking the helm at QB with Bohanon transferring out. Returning 4/5 of a stellar OL will help immensley.

eclectic_tastes 16 I feel similar ways about Baylor and Michigan this season. Can Shapen (like McCarthy) be all he is expected to become? Will either the offense or defense be able to become truly elite? From both programs, I expect a lot of competence, but wonder how high the ceiling is.

MrTheSpork 17 Great season but loses a lot; lucky (4-1 in one possession); coaching staff intact; okay recruiting. Baylor lost a lot and it's hard to see if the replacements will be enough to make up.
noahthearc 17 120.8 points -> NY6 Contender. Could be another great year for the Bear. They should be able to compete for a spot in the Big 12 title game, where they could pull off some magic again.
retnuh101 17
Charlemagne42 18 They'll barely escape the BUTT bowl, and they'll drop the games against Oklahoma, ISU, and KSU, but they'll beat Oklahoma State and Texas. A conference title loss to Oklahoma will precede a respectable second-tier bowl win, for a 10-4 end to the Bears' season.

donald_flap 7 Aranda and company have done a stellar job at Baylor, and with the QB problem solved, they are a sure B12 contender. However, it all depends if they can make it to the top-4, and if they can show that they belong there.
Dontworryaboutit1 7
eeman0201 7 Potentially best returning production out there. Not in top 4 because of other contenders in b12 seemingly stepping up their game
fredmerc111 7 BIG12 has about 7 contenders, and Baylor is the best of the bunch imo.

RaceScottRace 7 My Bears are loaded in the trenches. I've never seen a Baylor team so deep on the lines. While they lost some key pieces on defense, I think they'll be able to replace them and still have one of the best units in the country. All the questions are at the skill positions on offense. Basically a new corps of receivers and running backs--one of which has almost never been healthy despite his talent. Shapen has promise at QB, but he visited the medical tent in his only two starts last year. They've got to keep him healthy to win another title.
sconbon 7 I predict they’ll win the B12, miss the CFP

jthomas694 14 Most of the best parts of this team moved on. But Rhule left a solid foundation and Arranda is the right guy to continue things.
asbestosman2 15
dusklord1 15 Dave Aranda is a good coach. He turned a 2 win season in 2020 to a 2 loss season in 2021. However, I'm pretty bearish on Baylor (pun not intended). They lose over half of their production, good for 126th out of 131 teams. A good coach can only do so much with this much turnover, especially when you play road games against BYU, Texas, and Oklahoma.
