eclectic_tastes 8 This seems high for a team that is coming off of a couple bad seasons, but they have the talent to be a scary top ten team. Last season was looking strong before Clifford's injury, and they are deeper now than they have been at QB if that issue happens again. On defense, they have playmakers as always, especially in the secondary, and I trust Diaz to make the most of it.

nw____ 14 I am definitely higher on Penn State than others. I am expecting something around a 10-win season, which means they'll either need to beat Michigan or Michigan State. Their schedule really isn't too bad, though, and I (for reasons I cannot totally explain) feel pretty good about them bringing back Clifford. They're going to have to figure out how to replace Dotson, but I think this could be a good year for them.

owl_man 22 Penn State is my favorite team by and far. I'll say this, I think they're good, very good. The defense is going to be better than most fans think. P.J. Mustipher should be an awards season contender. The offense though...it's going to live and die by Sean Clifford and frankly I don't know how healthy he'll be able to stay. Overall, I'm expecting 9-10 wins with the floor at 8 and the ceiling at 12. Also, James Franklin gets at least 2-3 more years before I'd even entertain him leaving.

OldCoaly 17 Sean Clifford is a veteran QB that led a deservedly top 10 ranked team prior to his injury last year.

dusklord1 20 Another really weird team from last year. If healthy, I'd like to think Penn State was a top 10 to top 15 team. I can't imagine they lose to Iowa or Illinois with a healthy McSorely at a minimum. However, they had no depth at QB and a poor offensive line, which derailed their season. They deserve criticism for that and going .500 across the last 2 seasons makes it close to strictly wrong to put them much higher before they prove it on the field. I think they'll bounce back this year though. Furthermore, I don't trust James Franklin's ability to make good decisions in close games.

ewolfy13 24 Interesting QB battle here, will it be Clifford in his 6th year, or Drew Allar, top rated QB prospect?

RaceScottRace 24 Last year was tough for Penn State. They made it onto my ballot over similar teams due to faith in James Franklin. I think he'll respond well to the pressure and avoid the hot seat.
