Matt Campbell's new Penn State team looked every part the role of a contender. Defense was rolling. New starting QB and Iowa State transfer Rocco Becht was extremely efficient and got almost half the game off with the early lead the Nittany Lions were able to build. With their schedule and the way the team looked in Week 1, they are a darkhorse Playoff team at season's end.

I think I heard this was Rocco Becht's best game ever. Good sign, also one of their only 2 hard games looks like it got a lot easier. Bump to their CCG odds.

I don't think this win warranted a 4-spot jump, but I don't know; this game just eased a lot of my worries I had with this team, and maybe it's because it's a G6 school and not like an FCS school. Who knows, but I liked what I saw, and everyone knows Penn State has an easy schedule, so if they can just roll with momentum, they are lined up for a very successful season.

Solid opening game against a G6 team, but PSU won't be challenged for several more weeks. Should give Matt Campbell ample time to develop his players and get ready for PSU's bounce back.

So far, it looks like James Franklin was holding this team back from their true potential. That's scary. You know what else is scary? Koby Howard.
