4 Oregon Ducks I don't believe that Boise is a bad team at all (I have them in my bracket personally) but if Oregon fancies itself as a true title contender this is a game it should win by multiple scores. I would be really curious to see the EPA graphs on this one, because Oregon mostly scored through big plays thanks to superior athleticism, while Boise tended to have the longer more sustained drives.

9 Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss showed off why they're a top ten team with that win against Louisville, but it also showed off some major concerns. Star RB Kewan Lacy had a very pedestrian day, and their secondary play was straight up embarrassing at times which is what allowed the Cardinals to get back in the game in the first place.
10 LSU Tigers Lane Kiffin showed off exactly why "I need NFL players on my roster to win" was the dumbest hill to die on, because LSU is already looking like a Top Ten roster under him. It wasn't a perfect debut for Lane and Sam Leavitt in Death Valley but they made Dabo Sweeney look ancient in comparison.
11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish The Irish pulled away in the end, but letting Luke Fickell Wisconsin hang around for more than a half of football does not exactly inspire confidence.

17 SMU Mustangs Lot of mistakes in the Mustangs debut, but with the power outage and late start causing some weirdness plus first game jitters I am not terribly concerned. If it weren't for those mistakes they would have beaten FSU by multiple scores. They looked like clearly the better team.
18 Louisville Cardinals They got the loss, but I don't think there's a ton of shame in that if you're Louisville. Some questionable clock management at the end, but Lincoln Keinholz is a baller under Brohm. I expect them to be firmly in the ACC title race.

24 Washington Huskies If you only watch the Box Scores you'll probably say "Oh Washington won by multiple scores and Demond Williams played well" but I think the reality is a lot more complicated than that. This game should not have been close at all, but the Washington Offense struggled for major portions of this game and made it a lot closer than it really should have been. If you expected a step forward from Williams, we didn't really get to see that. I am thoroughly whelmed by this performance.
25 Nebraska Cornhuskers Calm down, Nebraska fans. You know how to catastrophize with the best of them, but there was a lot of good in the game vs Ohio on Saturday. 1) Anthony Colandrea looked really good. A combination of arm talent and elusiveness that Nebraska hasn't had in over a decade. 2) The run game was dominant. True Freshman Jamal Rule had a debut to remember and they don't look like they are going to lose a step missing Emmett Johnson. 3) The offensive line played really well, and you all know how much that was an issue last season. Still some questions on defense, it was the first game in a new system, and you want some more pass rush, but they stopped Ohio's run game despite playing in Cover 2 for much of the second half, which is a great sign.
