| SufferingfOrLife | 16 | — Result: (W) 27-24 Florida State I'm going to be honest, I probably would have dropped them a spot or two if this game was played on a Saturday and I had more time to digest it, but I also think that they still played well. That is a loose interpretation of "well", since they committed so many self-inflicted errors and still were able to pull out the win. That's mainly due in part to playing a Florida State team that would fire their coach in a heartbeat if it were even a smidge more affordable. SMU is still good, though just got to play cleaner football, and I think they are easily a top contender in the ACC and can challenge the likes of Miami, Louisville, and Virginia (Yes, I am high on Virginia). |

| TheUltimate721 | 17 | Lot of mistakes in the Mustangs debut, but with the power outage and late start causing some weirdness plus first game jitters I am not terribly concerned. If it weren't for those mistakes they would have beaten FSU by multiple scores. They looked like clearly the better team. |
| Xy13 | 17 | {+3} [1-0] (27-24 W @ Florida St) --- Power Outages aside, SMU imposed their will on FSU with 430 passing yards, the only one stopping them, was themselves. 2 INTs, 2 lost fumbles. |

| lowes18 | 22 | SMU won an exceptionally ugly game that they tried to lose. For every play that SMU made to make it clear they should be up by multiple scores against Florida State, they would make another exceptionally dumb decision that kept FSU in the game. The defensive issues on this team looked acute even going up against a QB who effectively couldn't throw the ball, and could get them burned. SMU needs Jennings to play up to a level to overcome those defensive issues, and he did everything to both win and almost lose SMU the game on Monday. |

| Tarmacked | 22 | The offense has a high ceiling if Jennings gets his way, but FSU was entirely too close for comfort. I read this more as a Nick Marshall style Auburn team from the 2010's, without the elite defense. Very boom or bust. but inconsistent. |

| Justanother_0 | 23 | SMU looked the part for a top 25 team for a decent chunk of their opener. However, the turnovers, redzone offense, and secondary are very concerning for a team that has ACC title hopes. I’ll chalk this up to first week jitters though, the rest of the team still looks to be solid. (also how did FSU manage to lose with a +4 turnover differential?) |
