Due_Connection179 3 ACC Championship vs #20 Clemson // With Miami losing to Syracuse, I'm officially on the SMU bandwagon. I would love nothing more than for FSU to bash the SMU addition, only for the Mustangs to somehow win the CFP Championship in their 1st ACC season. Their CFP hopes get dicey if they lose to Clemson, but I don't see them falling behind Indiana, so they should be locked into the CFP.

In your first year as a G5 team turned P4 team, you easily sweep through and find yourself in the conference championship game. With 1 loss coming to another ranked team, you think this would have already solidified SMU as a playoff lock, but SEC narratives for their (checks notes)...3 loss Bama and Cock teams must stay alive and well. big_thunder_man 3 [11-1] Beat Cal. Great wins over Duke, Pitt, TCU; and other bowl eligibles (Boston College, Louisville). If they beat Clemson in the AAC title it's undeniable, but I think if you put their resume blindly against Indiana or Penn State, it has more wins over bowl eligible teams, and overall bigger wins (Duke / Pitt specifically).

Held back by the weaker schedule and by BYUs collapse at the end of the season weighing them down. SMU vs. Clemson is going to a firecracker of a game. I think SMU should be in the playoff regardless of the outcome, but will the committee respect that? A stinker to Clemson and a loss of playoff entrance to an at-large team is something the Mustangs definitely don't want to chance. Quality wins: @Louisville, @Duke
