"Worst Case" for Notre Dame is that Oregon loses and they get pushed down to #6. So, as of now, I have Notre Dame playing either #11 South Carolina (or Alabama because the CFP committee will probably pick them) or #12 Arizona State (or Iowa State).

Notre Dame had a really good season and whipping on USC has only proved it. Unfortunately they need to join a conference to get a top four seed however a home playoff game isn’t that bad

(11-1) - ✅ 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 - After losing to Northern Illinois in Week 2, Notre Dame had zero margin for error. In my estimation, any additional loss would probably kick them out of the top 12 and somewhere in the Alabama/Ole Miss fuzz zone. The Fighting Irish didn't exactly have a great schedule and were picked early to go undefeated after clearing their greatest test on paper (Texas A&M) anyways, but they do have at least some decent wins to bolster their resume and allow them to be ranked fairly highly and be a lock for the playoffs despite bearing the worst loss (86th FPI!) of any team in this region of the rankings. That loss does hold some sway, so I have the Fighting Irish still ranked behind some of the other 11-1 teams. Quality wins: @Texas A&M, Louisville, Army

LW: 4. Still the worst loss in the top 10 by far. only reason they drop is because Texas looks better with a decent win @ Kyle Field. Will probably get the 5 seed (imo should get the 6 seed but it's alright). Recency bias is a hell of a drug, but ND looks great still.

Cruising into the playoffs. One of the sneakiest hot teams in CFB right now. Could easily be top 4 next week. Makes me feel like the playoff should be formatted that if any independent team at least makes top 4 then they get one of the first round byes.

Finished 11-1 and will be happy to make the playoffs(+-0)

[11-1] Beat USC. Looking at their schedule: Texas A&M and Louisville are their best wins, the service academies are gimmies, and who else? Miami of Ohio? They beat a 7 loss Virginia. A 5 loss Georgia Tech. An 11 loss Florida State. This is a team that is going to get walloped by Indiana or Georgia in round 1 of the playoffs, and we're going to act shocked. Not me.

Notre Dame's best win is Louisville, and it turns out the loss to Northern Illinois didn't matter after all.
