DeceptiveSpeed 4 Again, a little higher than I'd personally put them, but the win over Michigan is good for the Irish's argument despite a couple ugly wins in the past two weeks.
ExternalTangents 4
moistats_ 4 They were very ugly wins, but at least they were wins. I still think Notre Dame can go far mainly because of their schedule. Also, I think Vanderbilt is a much stronger team than people anticipated.

OKgolfer 5 Though all three wins were one-score games, you can't discount the Irish's strength of schedule: both Michigan and Vanderbilt have no other losses and Ball State has an FBS football program.

Miami_da_U 7 Three straight one score wins vs Michigan, ball state, and Vanderbilt. That doesn't exactly make me confident in them. And I still think ultimately when they play a much more athletic team they will crumble. Luckily for them the obvious candidates for that - FSU and USC are really bad right now. I think their game vs Stanford will be a toss up though. If they win that one I will at least be one fit in on the hype.

noahthearc 7 -1 spot. The Irish are winning, but there are some serious questions starting to form. The first three games have been in the safety of South Bend, now they have a road test at Wake, let's see how they do.

BabyBladder 8 Toughest team to rank tbh. I think they're probably around a #20 team, but they're 3-0 and beat Michigan. Really making me consider my ranking philosophy (eye test versus results). We'll see soon enough.

Blooblod 11 Last week: 8. I know there's a lot of people who don't like the idea of moving a team down after a win (or moving a team up after a loss) but Notre Dame has looked really disappointing for two consecutive weeks while Stanford remains strong, Penn State seemed to get past its defensive struggles it saw against App State (although against poor competition as well), and Washington added a solid win in its comfortable victory over Utah.

nickknx865 13 Man I sure did screw up when I said Notre Dame was a national title contender after their win against Michigan in week 1. Against Ball State and now Vanderbilt, the Irish look more like they always have -- a team that has a lot of interesting athletes who look impressive getting off the bus, but just can't put things together to be a tier 1 team. That might change, but for now 13th seems right given the team's quality.

stripes361 13 Dropping Notre Dame again after a very shaky performance against Vandy. I just don't see their offense coming together this year.

PHubbs 17 This Notre Dame team feels like the 2012 squad that keeps winning week after week despite not seeming dominant no matter who they play. If they never learn how to throw the ball consistently, things might get ugly, but with the falling expectations at Pitt, Northwestern, FSU, and USC, Notre Dame's schedule looks much more manageable than it did to start the season. Their two hardest games now sit a couple weeks away with Stanford and Virginia Tech. Maybe they'll pull out close contests just like that 2012 squad, but with the issues they have, a Playoff appearance would likely end in the same devastating result as the BCS.
VerySeriousBanana 17 Really? Almost lost to Vanderbilt this week after nearly losing to Ball State... who got crushed by the Hoosiers... Not feeling good about ND. They've got chances to change my mind, but the Irish haven't done anything other than squeak to wins lately.
