theeguy Ballot for 2018 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 17, 2018, 8:25 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I believe the top 4-6 this year have pulled away from everyone else more than other years. Still early in the year, a lot of this is gut feelings and will be fleshed out more as the season progresses and we get more data on teams. There seems to be a dearth of good intersectional matchups this year unfortunately.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Dominant and facing by far their toughest test so far at home this weekend.
Georgia Bulldogs Has not been tested, but looking good after 3 weeks. Won't see a real challenge until mid-October @LSU
Clemson Tigers Not as dominant as Bama or UGA, but has already controlled majority of game against a decent team in a hostile environment. Defense is nasty, but need to work kinks out on offense.
Ohio State Buckeyes TCU couldn't hold it together (essentially 4 turnovers counting the mishandled punt) and OSU gets a good win in what should have been a less than neutral site game (that ended up being in their favor).
Oklahoma Sooners Struggled more than anticipate at a Iowa State, but still controlled the game.
LSU Tigers Not sold on either Auburn or Miami being anywhere near top 10, but LSU still has the best pair of wins on the season.
Virginia Tech Hokies This is where it starts to get weird. I think FSU is better than they're currently getting credit for (as is Cuse).
Oklahoma State Cowboys Solid win against Boise State
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Stanford Cardinal USC win not looking nearly as exciting.
Mississippi State Bulldogs
Penn State Nittany Lions
UCF Knights
Boston College Eagles I've been on the BC train since last year. AJ Dillon and Anthony Brown make a very good backfield and the defense will help them control games down the stretch.
West Virginia Mountaineers
Duke Blue Devils
Texas A&M Aggies We'll find a lot more about multiple teams based on how the Aggies preform this weekend.
TCU Horned Frogs
Auburn Tigers
Washington Huskies
Miami Hurricanes
Michigan Wolverines
USF Bulls
Wisconsin Badgers Ugly game against a mediocre at best BYU squad, but still a solid team. I expect them to bounce back, but their national championship hopes are on life support.
Syracuse Orange Consider this a flier in a weird year. Cuse dominated a team that should've had a vast talent advantage. Dino is a good coach and is moving them in the right direction.
