hokies220 3 Northwestern losing hurt them a bit, but Army winning helped. Still have two road P5 wins.
sideoutpar 3 12 pts.
boonamobile 4 My algorithm is high on Duke because they are a 3-0 P5 team who has beaten their opponents by margins that are large **relative to** those teams' typical score differentials. Their most consequential victory was their 21-7 win over Northwestern, with the -14 point differential being about 2.5 standard deviations worse than Northwestern's mean point differential throughout the season **so far**.

relax_on_the_mat 6 Bad P5s on the road (NW & Baylor) and decent indie Army at home.
W_Is_For_Will 6 Beat an FBS team, remained undefeated.

Sproded 7 For the same reason as last week, a couple good wins keeps them in the top 10

YellowSkarmory 8 Something I want to clear up since I know this pick in particular will get a lot of flack because of what team i'm a fan of: This is not a homer pick. At least not a conscious one. Duke has a strong overall resume with wins against 2 2-1 teams and a 1-2 team, and good MOV. (Also this is the types of explanation I usually write up for other teams, but I just don't have time to do all of them this week, sadly, after I lost most of them because my computer glitched out and I had to restart it.)
DeceptiveSpeed 9 Here's a fun one. Duke has won all three of their games- all of which were against FBS opponents. They beat Army (Rating: 1029), Northwestern (1048), and Baylor (1032). The average rating is currently 1027, three above average wins leads to a big gain for Duke. A game vs NC Central next week, regardless of outcome, should bring the Blue Devils down in the rankings.

OKgolfer 15 Did you know that Duke has three FBS wins, two of which are on the road? I haven't watched them play, but I hear Zion Williamson is great.

T-Thugs 15 3-0 with wins over Baylor, Army, and Northwestern.

Blooblod 17 Last week: 22. Duke moves up after a solid win over Baylor. A second half surge from the Bears made this win look closer than it felt. Despite throwing three TDs, Quentin Harris showed some obvious deficiencies in the passing game--something to keep an eye on.

moistats_ 17 Duke looks strong against two players that are on multiple watch lists? Oh this may be a force to be reckoned with. Miami, I think we found your challenger along with Virginia Tech.

GenialGiant 18 Duke surges into the rankings with a win over Baylor; the win over the Bears and Army's win over Hawai'i gives Duke two victories over 2-1 teams.

Charlemagne42 21 403, -146, 257; Same story for Duke. Wins over bad teams who have wins over worse teams. Last week I'd have said Northwestern was a good win, but this week they lost to Akron. Baylor is looking improved, which is the only reason the Blue Devils aren't getting the maximum penalty. Sorry Duke, you aren't almost almost as good as Alabama.

noahthearc 21 Not Ranked. Duke has been under-the-radar with wins over Army, @ Northwestern, and @ Baylor seem to signify that this team could actually surprise some in the Coastal this year. Virginia Tech comes to town in two weeks.

stripes361 21 Jumping Duke over Iowa due to ever so slightly stronger computer numbers. Really could go either way. Duke's 34-14 win over Army looks quite impressive at the moment with the way the Black Knights are playing.

TheJeemTeam 24 3/3 in Tier M: Honestly don't believe they should be ranked despite 3-0 record. Northwestern win looks less impressive after they lost to Akron.
ttsci 24
VerySeriousBanana 24 Not too much to say here. Duke just keeps on winning, and winning in surprisingly dominant fashion. Their game at Baylor wasn't even close.
