Tornadohunter24	15	[4-0, 1-0 ACC] (-) | SOR: #10 | Notable Results: Somehow flying under the radar as the defending ACC Champs, W 31-27 @ Illinois [2-2] | Manny Diaz might just be a magician, because there's no other explanation about how a defending P4 champion with a road P4 win along with commanding wins against Stanford and Tulane has managed to mostly escape the AP Voters eyes (thankfully, the Coaches have chosen to not underestimate the Blue Devils). A top-10 SOR rating and solid performances in other power metrics should mean that Durham should have more eyes upon them, but it doesn't seem to have translated yet. A few more victories and even that Diaz special will be impossible to hide a team with the ability to win the ACC again.

Is Duke actually the 18th-best team in the country? I have absolutely no fucking idea. But they're 4-0 and some teams ahead of them have already lost, so here we are. This is what happens when the entire middle of the poll is a tire fire.

They have not looked fantastic, but they have been winning games in the manner that a fringe top 25 team should. Wins over struggling Tulane and Illinois are good to keep them inside the top 25 for now, but may not be as impressive down the stretch.

Illinois might not be bad, but the other competition they've played are definitely not what I would currently consider good. Stanford just beat GT, who is Duke's next opponent on October 10th (they have a bye this week), and I think Duke will win that game, but I will definitely be curious to see how they do against UNC, Virginia, Miami, Clemson, and Wake, who definitely add some toughness to Duke's back half of the schedule. Tentatively ranked at #24.
