Is Iowa an elite team? Probably not. Is Iowa exactly the kind of team you absolutely do not want to play in November? Yeah. They don't need to score 40. They don't need to dominate you. They just need to make you miserable for four quarters. Iowa is back!

Kirk Ferentz has once again assembled a mighty defense alongside longtime DC Phil Parker, and the offense has come up big when they've had to against both of their P4 opponents so far. Special teams has also been crucial once again. However, a huge test in the form of an angry Buckeye awaits them alongside College Gameday next week, and the Hawkeyes will need to be firing on all cylinders for all 60 minutes if they want to weather the storm. Impressive results but mediocre game control knocks them down to just inside the top 10.

The close win over a middling-to-bad ISU team is holding them back from being higher, but I'll acknowledge that any win in El Assico is a good win. I don't expect Iowa to beat OSU, but keeping it competitive and then winning against Washington with short rest will boost Iowa in my rankings.

Tarmacked	17	On one hand, undefeated Iowa. On the other hand, that Michigan game was incredibly ugly and no one should brag about a Michigan win right now. I don't think they'll be world beaters as we get into the meat of the schedule, 8-4 seems about fair this year. Sagarin has them at 13, FPI at 25. Ultimately I just don't really see anything than the standard #15-#20 Iowa team here with a staunch defense. We'll see where this goes.

They are still easily in the top half of the B10 and winning in the Big House is never easy, still not convinced the offense will be enough to win against any other Top 10 caliber teams but they can handle lower ranked teams I think

jtchr33	12	Oh god, Iowa fans are getting bad in my area. They look solid of course, but I just know they are going to drop a game they shouldn't and miss out on the playoffs or something. OSU is going to be tough on both sides, not saying they cannot do it, but this is going to be the toughest Offence they have and likely will play all year. I don't think they get out of this one unscathed, the rest of the schedule may look good, but I see a lot of possible traps (Washington, Minnesota, and Wisconsin specifically).

_THE__BOULDER_	15	After the games against N Illinois and Northern Iowa, I was hoping to see more offense from this Hawkeyes team. That is not to say that Iowa didn't do what it took to win, because they did win it on the last play of the game, and they did it off of a great back-shoulder throw over a very good DB in Smith Snowden. They also managed to drive 75 yards in 7 plays to score at the beginning of the 4th. That being said, their first TD came off of a kickoff return, so it's not like their offense was super productive. The offense did not score until the 4th, and then there was a field goal attempt with a little over 2:30 left in the 4th despite being down 5 points? I guess the thought process was centered around getting two FGs to win it, but the kick went wide-right from 51 yards, forcing them to have to force a 3 & Out and then drive. Still, this is a game they probably would not have won in this fashion - driving to win it against Michigan on the road - in previous years, and it certainly looked to be an emotional win coach Ferentz. I have elected not to improve Iowa's rank from last week to this week, as I feel like they did the bare minimum here to not be moved down - they won against a team they were ranked higher than (in the AP Poll by 1 rank, in my poll last week it was 15 vs 24 - I'm not that high on Michigan). I would like to see them build more offensive consistency, but I'm not confident it's going to happen, especially when they host Ohio State this Saturday.
