Due_Connection179 25 Last Week NR vs Western Michigan : Won 41 - 10. Interesting thing about the OC. He needs the Hawkeyes to average 24 PPG or he is fired after the season. Just something to watch moving forward (for those wondering, they are currently at 28.3 PPG).

throwaway_6786 18 Iowa rises up a few spots thanks to some chaos around them, but UCLA jumps them due to Iowa State losing against Ohio. Still, Iowa's offense looked better against an iffy G5 in Western Michigan, so that's encouraging headed into Happy Valley to face Penn State.

For the first time this season, the Hawkeyes managed to score more than 25 points in a single game. Though this only came against the MAC’s Western Michigan, who aren’t exactly worldbeaters, a 31-point victory was a pretty convincing performance for those who doubted the potency of Iowa (which was understandable after their first two games). The defense is as stout as ever, but the offense being so lackluster overall is still a sign for concern, especially as they need to travel to top 5 Penn State for their first conference game of the season.
