MemeLovingLoser Ballot for 2023 Week 4

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Sept. 17, 2023, 9:18 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Based on team statistics in each game, with each category being weighted differently, and more recent games having more weight to bring it more inline with human polls. Poll considers the 12 most recent games a team has played (including prior year and bowls), with prior year games and games against FCS schools being given less weight (poor performance still hurts, but "good stats" don't help nearly as much). Weightings may be tweaked season-to-season, but not mid-season. Teams must have played 12 games as an FBS school to qualify for a ranking.

Rank Team Reason
Washington Huskies I know MSU is still reeling from the Tucker saga, but damn.
Michigan Wolverines
Florida State Seminoles
Georgia Bulldogs Their win against South Carolina really helped them with me. They were #6 last week for me. The SECs habit of playing FCS schools, hurts them a bit when it's a more recent game.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
USC Trojans
Penn State Nittany Lions
Texas Longhorns
Ohio State Buckeyes
Oregon Ducks
Oregon State Beavers
Oklahoma Sooners
North Carolina Tar Heels
UCLA Bruins
Utah Utes
Tulane Green Wave
Duke Blue Devils
Iowa Hawkeyes
UCF Knights
Air Force Falcons
Alabama Crimson Tide
Clemson Tigers
Liberty Flames
Fresno State Bulldogs
Ohio Bobcats Unexpected MACtion in the Top 25 led to a lot of rechecking of formulas.
