thatoneguyD13 Ballot for 2023 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 17, 2023, 2:02 a.m.

Overall Rationale: My ranking is a combination of expected results in hypothetical games against other ranked teams, as well as the actual wins and losses resume each team has, leaning more heavily on the latter as the season progresses. I approach the rankings as though there is a "true" ranking of teams and every week reveals more data. It's never perfect but by the end of the season there is a large enough data set that I can confidently conclude who the best teams are. I use FPI and other models for reference, but this is a human poll.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Showing some cracks, but still #1
Michigan Wolverines
Ohio State Buckeyes Looking much better after rocky first two weeks
Texas Longhorns Alabama win still good, though maybe not as good as previously thought
Florida State Seminoles Nearly lost to terrible BC team. LSU win still very good though.
USC Trojans
Penn State Nittany Lions
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Utah Utes
Oregon Ducks
Oklahoma Sooners
Washington Huskies
North Carolina Tar Heels Win over SC looking even better now. Great won over Minnesota.
Alabama Crimson Tide Offense with major issues. Struggling with USF like that means dropping.
Ole Miss Rebels
LSU Tigers
Washington State Cougars Win over CSU better than CU's. Not to mention beating Wisconsin
Oregon State Beavers
Miami Hurricanes
Duke Blue Devils
Florida Gators Handled Tennessee, only loss on the road to top ten Utah team.
Colorado Buffaloes Struggled with CSU. Likely to be pummeled by next two opponents. But solid wins so far.
Tennessee Volunteers
Iowa Hawkeyes
UCLA Bruins
