Texas Longhorns
|
(-) Horns defense continues to look violent and aggressive. Vols are solid defensively themselves; still though, Cam Coleman has not looked great and Smothers’ absence was felt in the rushing game despite a pretty good performance from Brown. All they need is consistency at those skill positions (and some better discipline on all 22) and they’re off to the races |
| 2 |
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
|
(-) An explosive running touchdown finally happened! Pretty much established as a DB factory, down to 3rd string free safety and are still absurdly dominant in pass D + pass rush has emerged in a big way. So has Micah Gilbert as the true alpha WR. UGA is definitely nipping at the heel though Wiscy W keeps ND @ 2 |
| 3 |
Georgia Bulldogs
|
(+2) Haha OU offense bad and Mateer stinks yeah yeah yeah, but UGA took a vaunted OU defense behind the woodshed in Athens through plenty of explosives that have been missing over last couple years against inferior defenses. Enough to hop Miami in my eyes |
| 4 |
Miami Hurricanes
|
(-1) Miami stat padding against tomato cans will continue until morale improves. That solid yet weird Wake W aging particularly well already though |
| 5 |
Indiana Hoosiers
|
(+1) IU really deserves credit for trading blows with NW to hold them off. Cats are a solid all-round squad and are extremely well-coached. However, Hoover continues to not move me. Charlie Becker + depth at RB absolutely does move me AND the chains though. Also, is it just me or are most their impact DBs like… really tiny? Not a knock just an observation |
| 6 |
Ohio State Buckeyes
|
(+1) We all know the deal with OSU at this point. Smith is a freak, Sayin is not a guy who launches downfield willy nilly but is an absolute sniper. That said if I’m a Bucks fan, I am fucking TERRIFIED seeing Iowa becoming able to run a 2 minute drill. Horrifying concept. And they’re going to Kinnick to see for themselves 🌽👁️👁️🌽 |
| 7 |
BYU Cougars
|
(+1) Cougs got their bye, now have two games against two mediocre conference competition to tune themselves up for the showdown with ND in Provo October 17th |
| 8 |
Texas Tech Red Raiders
|
(+1) Just insane how stacked they look at essentially every position group outside of the most important one. The CFB version of the Atlanta Falcons |
| 9 |
Alabama Crimson Tide
|
(+2) Alabama has finally played a complete game in 2026. Has Ryan Williams become 17 again? SCAR might be in free fall mode, but the Tide may be beginning their peak mode at the right time having to go to Stark Vegas this week in by far their biggest test to date |
| 10 |
Iowa Hawkeyes
|
(+3) And thus begins the B1G title hunt for the Hawkeyes. A photo finish and some classic delayed karma delivery against Michigan in The Big House should make some hairs stand straight up for the rest of the conference, if not the sport at large |
| 11 |
Florida Gators
|
(NR) Well okay then! Caught Ole Miss at a perfect time with the Rebs having played two competitive opponents in three weeks in a definite letdown position, but the Gators took that opportunity and ran with it… literally. Incredible that Napier had a losing record with Baugh on roster |
| 12 |
Utah Utes
|
(-) Unfortunately for the Utes, emphatic Ws for UF and Iowa restrict their ability for upward movement this week. Didn’t help that they put it in cruise control in the 2nd half on both ends against a clearly inferior ISU team |
| 13 |
Mississippi State Bulldogs
|
(+7) If I had a Heisman vote, and voting began today, KeMario Taylor is my choice. Full stop. He could solidify that position and then some with Bama coming into town and all the momentum in the sport behind MSU |
| 14 |
Ole Miss Rebels
|
(-10) Far from the end of the world, but you can’t help but have some concerns for Ole Miss ESPECIALLY with how much they got pushed around on defense. Outmuscled for practically the entire contest. Still in a good position, for now |
| 15 |
LSU Tigers
|
(-5) Half-correction from having them overranked the week prior and other half getting leapfrogged by UF and Iowa while still being behind Ole Miss for obvious reasons. Also, A&M is NOT looking so hot. A lot to like from that game though; offensively they made mistakes still but less of them AND less that put them in uncomfortable positions |
| 16 |
Duke Blue Devils
|
(NR) Here’s the real overcorrection of the week. Manny Diaz redemption arc continues to shock me and everyone else watching |
| 17 |
UCLA Bruins
|
(+4) Went to the other side of the country and just went apeshit on Maryland. Terps are likely quite bad and Locksley at this point is as good as gone, and honestly this is mostly the Bruins being the beneficiaries of several teams in the teens getting clipped. But they look good, and 4-0 is 4-0 |
| 18 |
Oklahoma State Cowboys
|
(+5) Pokes have officially recovered completely from the Tulsa aberration with two extremely impressive P4 wins following that disaster. Seriously flipped on the afterburners in the 2nd half vs. WVU. Mestemaker is a certified dealer, and Hawkins is great as well despite the absurd volume |
| 19 |
Oregon Ducks
|
(+5) Oregon 🤝 Notre Dame: making USC their concubine (FUCK LINCOLN RILEY) |
| 20 |
Nebraska Cornhuskers
|
(NR) I am going to fall for this every time because I am a firm believer this sport is better when Nebraska is good |
| 21 |
Virginia Tech Hokies
|
(+4) Oh man if BC actually held on the memes would have been HILARIOUS. Instead Franklin’s Hokies now sit a whole lot prettier than PSU is right about now |
| 22 |
Houston Cougars
|
(-) Boxscore watchers beware: Clay Helton doesn’t get wins, but boy does he ever backdoor cover. Offensively still look potent, Weigman was quite the successful reclamation project for Fritz |
| 23 |
Tennessee Volunteers
|
(-6) Spirited effort defensively from Tennessee, but because it’s an even numbered year this means there’s some issues on the other side of the ball. And, let’s be real, the minute the frat accounts on Twitter started making this about racism was the minute this game was decided |
| 24 |
USC Trojans
|
(-10) The only reason they’re here is because that game was competitive up until the final couple minutes. Still look sorry defensively, letting a backup (albeit a talented one in Raiola) dice them up after a dirty as fuck hit on Moore sent him to the hospital (which the SC sideline celebrated to make it even more sorry). Frankly, will always be a sorry program until they tarmac Riley |
| 25 |
Wisconsin Badgers
|
(NR) Welcome back Badgers. We kept your seat warm but may have eaten all the Colby cheese. And the beer cheese. And the brats. And the pretzels. And drank all the good brews so now it’s just Busch Light left. We good? Okay cool Alexa play Jump Around | DROPPED: (15) Louisville, (16) Penn State, (18) Mizzou, (21) Michigan | HONORABLE MENTIONS: Boise State, North Dakota State, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Cincinnati |
