After two games against overmatched teams, the Irish went to Raleigh and braved the elements, walking out of Carter-Finley Stadium with a dominating 45-21 win. Sam Hartman threw another 4 TD passes and Audric Estime rumbled for 134 yards and 2 TDs, including an 80 yarder. Brennan Armstrong was picked 3 times and the Irish capitalized with 2 TDs off those interceptions. Central Michigan is up next for the Irish before hosting the Buckeyes in a huge top 10 showdown.

NCSU kept the game competitive for as long as they could, but Notre Dame grinded the Pack down, forced mistakes, and capitalized. Sam Hartman looked more mortal against P5 competition, but did plenty to win the game for the Irish. The Irish get one more tuneup game against CMU before the first serious test of the season against Ohio State.

Tornadohunter24	11	After a hard-fought game at a likely bowl-bound NC State (who are always good for 7 to 9 wins on a given season) and their rowdy Wolfpack crowd, Notre Dame will be happy to take another tune-up game against MAC team Central Michigan before their Week 4 showdown against the Ohio State Buckeyes in South Bend. Sam Hartman has been a wonderful boon for the offense, and the defense looks like a step up over last year, especially on the line and secondary. Unfortunately for the Irish, the schedule is no cakewalk, and they’ll need to be on their A-Game for pretty much every opponent (especially rival USC) from this point onwards. It’s definitely a good sign for Notre Dame that they’ve performed as well as they have so far, even if NC State was closer for 45 more minutes than they would’ve liked.
