RegionalBias Ballot for 2023 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 10, 2023, 6:49 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Early in the year, I use carry-over from the previous year, but will adjust for significant roster change (See Colorado). Each Week is a reranking from scratch to eliminate the "Front runner status" carrying teams that haven't earned their place (See Clemson). I am forgiving of slow week 1 starts so long as the team is dominant in other areas. Once the season gets some weeks in I switch to letting my computer poll suggest the order and then human adjust. Also, little to no points given for beating a glorified scrimmage (FCS outside of a few teams). Don't sweat if your favorite team isn't ranked high yet, it is early.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Lots of poll inertia as I do carry over from last year (at least early in the season)
Michigan Wolverines
Texas Longhorns Poll inertia, meet a big win
Ohio State Buckeyes Poll inertia, but averaging 5 points for opponents. No points for beating FCS.
USC Trojans Cupcake Beatdown continues. But, it was a beatdown.
Penn State Nittany Lions
Florida State Seminoles Hard to know if LSU is good or not (at this point)
Washington Huskies
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Good road battle
Utah Utes
Tennessee Volunteers
Alabama Crimson Tide Only a ten point loss. We just expect more from them.
Oregon State Beavers
Colorado Buffaloes
Oregon Ducks
Kansas State Wildcats
North Carolina Tar Heels Two decent wins so far
Oklahoma Sooners
Duke Blue Devils
Ole Miss Rebels
UCF Knights
Iowa Hawkeyes The boring machine bores
Miami Hurricanes
UCLA Bruins
Kansas Jayhawks
