For all the success Dave Clawson had at Wake, their 9-4 finish in Dickert's first season was better than all but one of Clawson's teams, and they look even better this year. I'd say I'm hesitant about ranking them this high due to the mid-top-25 attrition this week, but I'm honestly just...not? They look the part, and not only are they blowing teams out, their close wins at Purdue and at Louisville both look better after this week.

Darkest horse of CFP contenders tier 3b: 1-loss teams with a loss to a top team, but haven't beat anyone good yet. Iowa beat Michigan, most legit win besides oregon, lost to ohio st most legit loss. wake beat louisville, but lost to miami, etc etc ohio state + michigan > miami + louisville > indiana + michigan state iowa > wake > nebraska

And they look like they can be a potential contender for 2nd place in the ACC (assuming Miami locks in and doesn't do anything dumb like they usually do). Good win over NC State and, looking at the rest of their schedule, they'll have some tests in Virignia, SMU, and Duke, but these are all very doable.
