jtchr33 Ballot for 2026 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 12, 2026, 11:17 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Hey, finally a good week for the middle/bottom of the top 25 to figure themselves out.
I feel like we are underrating the Big 12 they have the most undefeated teams left and a multi bid big 12 looks very good right now.
Tennessee will still not be ranked until the beat a top 25 team (earlier reasoning supports this)

Drops
NDSU: RIP the dream, they can still do it but it is much tougher than before
Nebraska: So close, yet so far
Oregon: Not convinced at all they should be on this list, at leas not until they beat someone with a pulse.
Florida: Get it out of the way, the team we all fell for a few weeks ago.
Pitt: Ugh, that was not good or fun
Duke: will admit, was a bit to quick to rank all undefeated teams.

Next Few
Kentucky
Arizona
Nebraska
Florida

Rank Team Reason
1 Georgia Bulldogs Great win, hard to convince me otherwise that they are not #1.
2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Maybe I decided to prop up this matchup, but either way both teams look very good and should produce a good game. ND gets the edge for me, but BYU could make a huge statement.
3 Miami Hurricanes
4 Indiana Hoosiers That was...rough, but they came out with the win. Keep winning however you can and this could look a lot like last year for them.
5 BYU Cougars They looked solid, but had a lot of bad play calling (why go for it on 4th and short at the goal line multiple times. First time, sure. After that, eek). I hope it is an issue they fix, more hope that was a game where they saw their issues and learn from them.
6 Texas Longhorns What a crazy last 2+ minutes of that game. Kind of reminds me of their win over OSU.
7 Ohio State Buckeyes I moved them down, so what. They have a big chance to move up and show that they are the top again.
8 Ole Miss Rebels I still don't really know what to think of this team. Those early wins don't look as good as before.
9 Utah Utes
10 Texas Tech Red Raiders 3 bid big 12. Not an impossible at this time.
11 Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama has done next to nothing to convince me they are a top 10 team. I still don't get the full hype around it. Give me some more results and we will see.
12 UCLA Bruins Well, hello UCLA, wasn't expecting you to be up here at this time.
13 Iowa Hawkeyes Another solid, typical Iowa win. Wait they scored 40...with their backup QB. What is going on.
Honesty time; enjoy it while it lasts, they will lose another game or two. The big 10 (formerly) west division is interesting this year.
14 Houston Cougars
15 Missouri Tigers this team can compete with anyone...I think. Ole Miss game should be interesting, will tell what team is the gatekeeper of the top tier/playoff teams in the SEC. Could even be an eliminator.
16 Boise State Broncos Watch G5 games, this year could get weird again.
17 SMU Mustangs Speaking of weird. I don't think I can predict anything in the ACC now or later. SMU seems consistent, Miami is good, after that...who knows.
18 Mississippi State Bulldogs another yo-yo of a mid SEC team.
19 Wisconsin Badgers Ok, definitely to high, but all the bottom 25 teams did weird stuff this week. I expect Wisconsin to meddle around for a bit longer.
20 LSU Tigers I'm not really sure I should rank you, but eh, I'll take the hit now.
21 Oklahoma State Cowboys Hey Big 12 what is going on, fun conference top to bottom to keep an eye on. We seemed to write OSU off early, but if they keep this up...why no them.
22 James Madison Dukes Similar shenanigans from last year could get them in the playoff again (keep rooting for ACC chaos)
23 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Every time the ACC gets weird, Wake seems to be the team that comes out on top. Either that, or we will see another ACC team in this spot next week.
24 Northwestern Wildcats Thank you for ranking them, they deserve it so far. Can certainly surprise a top big 10 team.
25 New Mexico Lobos more mad NDSU lost and want to throw someone from the conference here.
