| Maladroit44 | 10 | The True NU, a title defended by last year's edition of a storied rivalry that I refuse to accept nobody else cares about, was perhaps even more competitive than the False NU in their loss to defending national champs Indiana. The Huskers led 17-6 at one point in the fourth quarter...but only briefly, and Cignetti's Hoosiers came back the way they always seem to in spots like this. Still, there's no debating that it was a solid result, and as with Northwestern, I'm moved to bring Nebraska *into* the rankings on the strength of losing their undefeated status in just about the most impressive way possible. The road ahead is light for NU, with Oregon their only real test between now and a date with Ohio State in the second-to-last week of the regular season, so their 5-1 record could turn into 9-1 and a soaring ranking real quick. |

| ChBass | 15 | Nebraska brought their third ranked offense, but their scoring capability was between Rutgers and Northwestern, so here they are. They get to fatten up a bit on the B1G and we'll see which team faces Ohio State. |

| TheUltimate721 | 15 | Am I allowed to quit pretending the Huskers aren't really good now? They were 13th in FPI going into the Indiana game, and despite the loss came out ranked 12th in FPI. They're 2-1 in the Big Ten so far, clearly above the middle class. The way they "kept it close" against Indiana was not the same as Northwestern. They were extraordinarily competitive in the trenches, shutting down Turbo Richard almost completely. Anthony Colandrea was extraordinarily difficult for them to stop all game. It wasn't just "plucky team that refuses to die" it was "We are going to take you to war and force you to earn everything." and they very nearly won. We joke about "quality losses" but the only thing that really stinks for the Huskers is that they definitely could have won this game. But they were a 7.5 point underdog and lost by a field goal. They are 4-1 against the spread this year, and the one loss is by 0.5 to North Dakota who are a top ten FCS program and probably better than a lot of FCS or bottom tier P4s. |

Good game ... as long as Indiana is actually good. 5-1, get back on the horse and see what we can do tier 3b: 1-loss teams with a loss to a top team, but haven't beat anyone good yet. Iowa beat Michigan, most legit win besides oregon, lost to ohio st most legit loss. wake beat louisville, but lost to miami, etc etc miami + louisville > indiana + michigan state > indiana + penn state wake > nebraska > northwestern |

| StFuzzySlippers | 22 | Moving up after a loss? Well, there were also several teams who dropped out, besides the fact that they really looked better than IU for much of that game. Overall, I'd say the top 25 looks weaker this week than last week. It's all relative. |

| T-Thugs | 24 | Nebraska is 5-1 with wins over Maryland (2-4) and Michigan State (2-4). Pretty low because they don't really have any good wins. Might be decent as they should have beaten Indiana last week if they didnt completely fall apart late. Could move up if they beat Oregon this week. |

| Lefunnymaymays4lief | 25 | (-8) It appears heartbreak is the only way Nebraska can end football games anymore. Truly a choke job of the ages here. For me personally I don’t have enough to completely drop them from the rankings but mostly they have a bunch of teams in the teens taking L #2 on the year to thank for that. And hey would you look at that, that’s 4 B1G West teams ranked! | _THE__BOULDER_ | 24 | A tough fight against Indiana at home where, ultimately, the Cornhuskers gave up the lead and lost. I don't feel as if Nebraska should move down for this loss - they were expected to lose and lost in a tight game. I think it was respectable and Nebraska is still deserving of a ranking at this point in time. |

| Isthmus11 | 25 | 5-1, this team really should have won that game against Indiana. The defense in particular played really well and the QB had a ton of gutsy runs. This team barely skirts into my top 25 because I do not like anyone else more, but they really need to finally prove that they can beat a top team in the B10 soon. Winning against Oregon would count in my opinion with the talent they have even though I knocked them outside of my top 25 |
