DarthYoda2594 Ballot for 2026 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 11, 2026, 9:35 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Going to start putting team explanations where I think they're warranted in the actual team section as opposed to here, with the exception of teams I left unranked. So this week - LSU and Oregon - I usually try to more heavily weight resume over prediction of future success, but I have no idea what Oregon is going to do moving forward and that unclarity makes me want to see them string a couple wins (Nebraska and NW would go a long way) before thinking they deserve a number. LSU, on the other hand, just lost a small amount of resume (Florida turning out to be mediocre hurts Ole Miss's only win, which makes that loss a little worse for them, and otherwise they have really no notable win. Dropped out: LSU (11), Oregon (12), Florida (17), Pitt (18), Duke (20). New this week: Iowa (15), Northwestern (16), USC (17), Miss. St (18), Kentucky (19). Next few out, in rough order: LSU, Oregon, Baylor, SMU, Oklahoma

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Road win against a top 10 team completely justifies jumping to #1 for me
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Miami Hurricanes
Ohio State Buckeyes
Indiana Hoosiers
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Alabama Crimson Tide No real reason to drop them further than this, competitive and Russell seems to settle in as big games go on to the point that I think they're going to be particularly dangerous in the playoff once he builds experience
UCLA Bruins Honestly not particularly impressive, but they're undefeated and beat a top 15 team on the road. I've been high on them all year and that's not going to stop now.
Texas Longhorns Even though they haven't looked any good in weeks, and this is an inexcusable loss, they still have the best win in college football this year. On thin ice though.
BYU Cougars
Utah Utes
Tennessee Volunteers
Ole Miss Rebels
Missouri Tigers
Iowa Hawkeyes
Northwestern Wildcats
USC Trojans May have dropped them out unfairly last week - Penn State is obviously down, but white out road win is always worth something. They can score with anyone, but still think their defense is a problem.
Mississippi State Bulldogs May have dropped them out unfairly also. Missouri win continues to improve and Bama proved how good they are and that's more excusable than I think I made it out to be.
Kentucky Wildcats
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Wisconsin Badgers
Houston Cougars
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Boise State Broncos All the new entries jump Boise and OK State because their Oregon win / loss are getting diminished as they continue to play poorly, but I'm not going to drop them out when Oregon was a different team with Moore. We just don't have enough data on them to really know.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
