1 Georgia Bulldogs Well it’s pretty undisputed who should be number one this week. What’s not undisputed is the last quarter of that game. A massive questionable call let Georgia off lucky, but sometimes that’s how it goes in football. Plenty of chances for them to fuck up down the back stretch, but they’ll likely need some rivalry weirdness to help take them down. Auburn and Florida before heading to Ole Miss and hosting Mizzou should keep them in their toes.
2 Miami Hurricanes 😴
3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Well ND has managed not to stumble in the early part of this season, and those Wisconsin and UNC wins look ok. But now we’ll get our first real test vs BYU. Luckily these teams have been saving themselves for this matchup, how sweet. 🥰🤮
4 Indiana Hoosiers Man I don’t trust this squad, that was a tight one vs Nebraska. But with all the shakeups up top the question is should it be Ohio State or Indiana up here? I’ve opted for Indiana as Ohio State looked shakey and texas lost. Was texas beating Ohio State the fluke or not? Can Indiana win against teams better than Nebraska? We’ll find out soon enough, so watch this spot.
5 Utah Utes I’m pretty sure the Utes are the best squad in the Big XII this year. Whether that’s deserving of a number 5 ranking is less clear. UH in a couple weeks will be the Utes’ biggest test so far
6 Alabama Crimson Tide Painful loss at home on a controversial call and stupid move by one defender. I actually saw Kalen deBoer get mad. I’ve never seen that man mad. That said, I think they’re a fine squad. Huge matchup vs Tennessee to prove they are this good next week.
7 Ohio State Buckeyes I might be overreacting dropping them here. They weren’t the ones that lost, texas is. Luckily they face off with Indiana and I expect the winner of that to be the number two overall next week. It’ll either be them or ND if ND dismantles BYU
8 UCLA Bruins Huge win over Oregon along with the rest of the chaos of the weekend. The Bruins are undefeated B1G contenders with a pretty favorable schedule with how things are shaking up. I don’t think they’ll end the season up here, but they should be recognized for how nice of a season they’ve had so far.
9 Texas Tech Red Raiders 😴
10 BYU Cougars I might be too low on byu, beating Arizona was a big win, and the TCU game was weather affected, but I’ve just not been convinced by this squad yet. They have a great chance to this week though.
11 Missouri Tigers Beating my gators and my Aggies in back to back weeks is rude. The ole Miss game will test if Mizzou can keep up with high power offense, and given ole Miss’ issues with run defense I expect they’ll do better than vs MS St
12 Texas Longhorns After a few struggling weeks they couldn’t get it done vs a floundering OU. The Manning train is not running smoothly at the moment, but luckily Florida next week has no secondary so that should help him get his head right and ego back up. That can’t go badly.
13 Mississippi State Bulldogs 😴
14 Iowa Hawkeyes I thought this might be a tough game for Iowa, but they demolished Washington in their own house. Going into a bye week back it facing off with a chaotic Minnesota team to keep making the case for the outsider B1G playoff candidate.
15 Arizona Wildcats I missed the game but it looks like a solid win over WVU. The wildcats are an outsider but I think they have a shot at being the big XII rep if things shake out right. TTU on Halloween is going to be huge but they need to not get caught looking ahead vs Iowa state.
16 Kentucky Wildcats Huge win vanquishing lane Kiffin. Thank you Kentucky. That’s the only time I’ll say that 🤢
17 Ole Miss Rebels This is mostly that ole Miss’ results are looking less impressive, and I rank Ole Miss’ loss to UF as worse than UK’s to Alabama.
18 Houston Cougars Huge win over k state, this is squad will likely move up the rankings more the next couple of weeks if they can keep it going vs ok st and Utah and Cincinnati. 😮‍💨
19 Nebraska Cornhuskers Close loss, snagged defeat from the jaws of victory. That’s Nebraska football bayyybeeee
20 Tennessee Volunteers Arkansas 🤨 hope that’s a kick in the pants for getting ready for Alabama next week or you’re gonna drop out of the rankings at least for a bit.
21 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Wake has put together a sneaky good resume. They should get more recognition for that. At cal will be hard with the time zones, but cal is also beat the fuck up so wake should survive it.
22 Northwestern Wildcats I might have NW too low. I’ll decide more next week when I have a better understanding of Indiana. Michigan state and Rutgers should be an easy back to back for nw coming up.
23 USC Trojans I am conflicted. I don’t know that this squad should be ranked, but they keep squeezing out wins.
24 Oklahoma State Cowboys So what the fuck was that Tulsa game. I’m not going to pretend I watched it but I am VERY confused by it
25 James Madison Dukes Billy Napier is breaking all kinds of curses for the Dukes. Go on my sweet prince JMU
