2 Indiana Hoosiers An ugly win, but this Indiana team continues to win games.
3 Ohio State Buckeyes The Texas loss may not age as well as anticipated. Move up in this week’s rank due to Texas losing to OU.
4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Move up due to Texas loss to OU and Alabama loss to Georgia.
5 Miami Hurricanes Move up due to Texas loss to OU and Alabama loss to Georgia.
6 Texas Tech Red Raiders Move up due to Texas loss to OU and Alabama loss to Georgia.
7 Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama loses at home in a competitive game vs. Georgia. They cement their place as a top 10 team but fall 2 spots.
8 Utah Utes Move up due to Texas loss to OU.
9 Texas Longhorns Texas loses a stinker of a game to OU on a neutral field. This team just showed us what the floor is. Special teams mishaps and poor offensive decision-making (coach/QB) cost them the win. In spite of this, they lost on a last second FG. Texas is a top-10 team with potential to be a championship contender… IF they can figure things out on the offensive side of the ball.
10 BYU Cougars LSU losing pushes BYU into the top 10.
11 Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss did what is expected of them when playing a weaker opponent. They move up due to LSU dropping.
12 Missouri Tigers Missouri continues to roll. Oregon and LSU losing pushes them up the rankings.
13 UCLA Bruins A massive win for the UCLA program puts them into the ranking Oregon had last week. This would be higher, but it needs to be remembered that Oregon had their backup QB started.
14 Houston Cougars Move up due to LSU and Oregon losses.
15 Boise State Broncos Move up due to LSU and Oregon losses.
16 Oklahoma State Cowboys Move up due to LSU, Oregon, and Florida losses.
17 Iowa Hawkeyes I moved Iowa ahead of Mississippi State as they rebounded well after their loss to OSU.
18 Mississippi State Bulldogs Move up due to LSU, Oregon, and Florida losses.
19 Northwestern Wildcats Duke, Florida, LSU, and Oregon losses move them up in my rankings. They continue to play good football.
20 Kentucky Wildcats The overtime win over LSU has me believing in the Wildcats. Their only loss is against a top-10 Alabama team. UK is easily deserving of a top 25 spot.
21 USC Trojans USC won a conference road game. That’s a positive. I still don’t fully believe this team though.
22 Tennessee Volunteers I’m not a believer of this Volunteers squad, but they’re 5-1 and continue to win football games.
23 SMU Mustangs SMU gets the bye week boost due to others losing.
24 Arizona Wildcats 5-1 with only loss to top 10 BYU team. Replace a 2 loss LSU.
25 Wake Forest Demon Deacons 5-1 with only loss to top 10 Miami team. Replace a 2 loss Oregon.
